Hello! I’m so excited it is Friday, I’ve been doing a little dance since I woke up. What else have I been doing since I woke up?
- 1/2 mile warm up job
- Tabbata 1: 20 seconds burpees/10 seconds rest + 20 seconds jumping jacks/10 seconds rest (4 rounds)
- Tabbata 2: 20 seconds mountain climbers/10 seconds rest + 20 seconds skaters/ 10 seconds rest (4 rounds)
- Tabbata 3: 20 seconds up/downs/ 10 seconds rest + 20 seconds straight arm plank/ 10 seconds rest (4 rounds)
- 1/2 mile “cool down” jog
I was sufficiently dripping in sweat by the end of it, foam roll, cool down and head out the door! It was a great make up for yesterday when I had kind of a poopy treadmill run and so so upper body workout. I love working out in the morning. Not only do I feel accomplished by 5:30am but I have way more energy. Yesterday’s run I was hungry, my hip hurt from sitting all day, it was hot and I was tired. I know complain complain complain… well I made up for it this morning with that short and sweaty workout!
Healthy Father’s Day Recipes
So Father’s Day is THIS weekend, what do you have on the menu to show Dad you care? Here are some mostly healthy ideas from the Hungry Hobby kitchen and some of my favorite blogs to help inspire you!
Pancakes are a great start to any Fathers day, save the hassle and skip the crowds this Sunday by whipping up these delicious pancakes for Dad. My Whole Wheat Greek Yogurt Pancakes passed the Mr. Hungry vigorous pancake review with flying colors, Dad is sure to love them and he won’t even know how healthy they are!
Thinking about grilling? These Jalapeno and Cheddar Turkey Burgers are delicious, cheesy with a spicy kick they are sure to go quick.

I always add these Healthy Homemade Corn Dogs to any summer list because isn’t there something amazing about biting into a corn dog on a hot summer day? These dogs are way more filling than the original and are baked (instead of fried) to crispy (yet moist) perfection.

Got a bunch of people to feed? Or is Dad a seafood and Mexican food lover? This Healthy Shrimp Enchilada Bake will feed Dad’s seafood/Mexican food craving and feed the whole family.
Also see, Shrimp & Black Bean Mexican Lasagna bake for a version that can be thrown together in less than 20 minutes.
These Oven Fried Chicken Taquitos slash over 1,000 calories compared to traditional ones, but are just as crispy and even more flavorful. Banking all those calories and extra fat means unlimiting dipping for Dad on Fathers Day!
My Grandma’s No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie’s are made in less than 10 minutes and are the perfect cold treat for Father’s Day. Easily customization with more add ins and sweetness/peanut butter level, they can be made especially just for Dad.

My mom was a single mom, so instead of skipping the holiday we always make sure to celebrate the holiday for her. If you do the job of two parents, you get two holidays! Mr. Hungry and his Dad love to grill up some Tri Tip Steak!
