HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
Wishing all you Mama’s out there a day filled with all the love and appreciation you deserve for all that you do, the world is a better place for it!
Switching gears…sorry no post on Friday and I’m just popping in for a second because posting is going to be sporadic. Why? Well it’s a bit of a surprise, but let’s just say this little bloggie space is about to get a major upgrade. There is a lot of back end work I need to do, organizing and what not so my actual posts might be kind of sporadic. Hopefully it will be all fixed up and full steam ahead by the end of next week. Fingers crossed. 🙂
How was your Mama’s Day? Ours was a success, we played host for the first time in the new house and it was great! (I LOVE hosting parties/get togethers.) I totally took pictures of the food and forgot to take pictures of the people. Whoops! Oh well. I also got a new breakfast enchilada recipe I served that will knock your socks off. I didn’t take that good of pictures though so it might have to wait till next time I make it to share it (which will definitely be soon.)
Mama Shallal requested Tequila Sangria after seeing it on the blog last week.
I also made some homemade guac, served with tons of veggies and chips for dipping. The blue corn chips are low fat version I found at Trader Joe’s recently and I would HIGHLY recommend them, they are delicious!
My sisters in law made a gorgeous salad!
And for the main course we had breakfast enchiladas and salmon. Don’t let my small plate of dessert fool you, it was a yummy custard with caramel peanut butter cookie dough amazingness. Every bite was pure caramel peanut butter cookie dough bliss… you get the idea. So rich and so good!
No grocery shopping pictures this week since there was so much for the lunch we hosted. I haven’t thought out our “meal plan” to the T, but as always I have lots of options!

Exercise/Workouts
Guess what? I’ve been “running” again and I’m so grateful and happy, words can not explain how grateful I am to be running again. It’s been a long time since I got injured back in January, it’s the best feeling in the world to jump on a treadmill and just get some sweat going! Last week I started with some walking and running on the treadmill and have been progressing very slowly. Today my workout looked like this:
5 mins at 3.5
2 mins at 6.0 and 1min at 6.2 repeated 5 times
5 mins at 4.0–>3.0
I paired my workout with some plank work and 3 round of heavy lateral pull downs (some day I will do a pull up.)
- Sunday- run and abs (DONE!)
- Monday- Strength or Bootcamp circuit TBD from my pinterest collection
- Tuesday- Run or rest
- Wednesday- Rest and Chiropractor
- Thursday- Run and Strength Train
- Friday- Strength or Bootcamp circuit TBD from my pinterest collection
- Saturday- Walk and Swim
Now it’s off to bed for this girl, Monday awaits…
