Welcome to a new week in the middle of October, one month till the wedding ekkk! I’m only partially freaking out, speaking of weddings… lets discuss workout plans. Per my half marathon training schedule (Part 3) I should have done a long run today, but Crossfit hasn’t quite released its death grip on me yet so I have to give it another day. I’m thankful I have this opportunity to be flexible since I’m not working right now (again, thank you federal government for putting a hold on funding…) Money is tight but with studying for the RD exam and planning a wedding I’m already in over my head, so I know it’s for the best. Here’s what the modified week tentatively looks like:
Sunday- Zumba
Monday- 9-10 Miles
Tuesday– Crossfit
Wednesday– 5 Miles
Thursday– Crossfit
Friday– Rest or 5 Miles
Saturday– Rest or 5 Miles
Last week I was running on Friday morning and although the soreness from crossfit hadn’t set in yet, I could tell I was making things 10 times worse. As a result, I was sore all weekend and had to delay my long run today, as complained about earlier. So, this week I’m going to take Friday easy because I much prefer to do my long run on Sunday. I’ve got to learn to be much more flexible with my schedule, roll with the punches like I’m doing for the wedding. Musician at our church called yesterday to say she wasn’t available, okay roll with the punches. Get a referral, call the referral, book a meeting with the referral move on with life. Too sore to go on the long run, jungle things around, don’t beat myself up about it and move on with life. I’m glad I made that decision because I barely made it through Zumba today, pretty sure a long run would have been a disaster. A disastrous long run is pretty much pointless in the scheme of training so I’d rather wait it out, as hard as it is.
