Hi everyone, hope you all had a good day and are getting excited because tomorrow is Friday. Are you doing a little dance? I am for two reasons: First, because the new reception room is finally built at our venue and we get to see it for the first time tomorrow night. Second, because my bridal shower is this weekend and I’m super excited.
This morning started off with a super gingery green juice. Too big of a piece of a ginger for sure, live and learn… live and learn. We had to add an extra apple to Paul’s so he could choke it down, ha ha. (If you remember from yesterday’s post he hates and loves his green juice.
About an hour later I had another Pumpkin Pie Breakfast Scramble with some TJ’s Pumpkin Coffee. This meal is quickly becoming my favorite part of the morning. I also eat some pumpkin straight out of the can while I wait for the mix to scramble. I forgot how much I love pumpkin. I love the taste, the texture, the nutrients, I love it all. Just give me a can I bet I could eat it all, just kidding I won’t do that, I’ll just eat spoonfuls all day long. Better than eating spoonfuls of almond, sunflower, or peanut butter calories wise anyways. (Instagram photo jack)
After doing some wedding stuff all morning I finally sat down to study, but then of course, I got hungry. So I made myself a salad with last night’s sweet potato and salmon leftovers. I also added cranberries and walnuts for a fall twist, delicious.
I’ve been trying really hard to focus on increasing my protein intake so when I got hungry a couple hours later I made a protein shake with a cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, one scoop of chocolate protein powder, two frozen strawberries and ice. (I was very tempted to add a scoop of pumpkin to it but I reluctantly refrained.)
Right before we went to Alpha I had a half a banana with a scoop of sun butter across it. Perfect pre workout snack.
Here is what we did today and the weight I used:
1/2 Mile Treadmill Warmup
5 Deadlifts Every 1 Minute for 5 Minutes (I used 65lb)
21 Thrusters (45lb bar), 21 Kettle Bell Swings (12kg), 21 Hand Release Push Ups
15 Thrusters (5reps-45lb, 10reps-30lb), 15 Kettle Bell Swings (12kg), 15 Hand Release Push Ups
9 Thrusters (45lb), 9 Kettle Bell Swings (25lb), 9 Hand Release Push Ups
This being my third Alpha workout ever, I’m just excited I can lift a 45lb bar without falling over and dying. Not only that but I didn’t just do it once, I did it 21 times. That’s pretty freaking awesome if you ask me. I think all women should be involved in some sort of weight lifting program that challenges their abilities and shows them they are so much stronger than they might think they are, can’t wait to see what else I can do. Now it’s off to dinner and more studying since I hardly did any today. Have a good night!
