Hi, friends! Man, it’s been a BUSY week.
My VA of five years, who helps me with a lot of backend stuff on the blog, is moving away from VA work to pursue her dream job. While I’m so happy for her, I’m sad for me, haha Luckily, I have a lot of great people set up to interview, but that will make it a tough decision. In addition, we are checking out preschools in the area and doing lots of tours. We love KJs current preschool so much. It’s close to our house and has a wonderful community. But we’re just kind of doing our due diligence since the preschool he’s at now is the only one we toured last year (due to him missing the cut-off for most 3-year-old programs, and his current preschool had a “peewees” or 2 and 3’s.) So a ton of appointments there as well. So, all the extra appointments are kind of making it hard to keep my head on straight.
I’m grateful my new babysitter is a rockstar, so now, I have two rockstar sitters, which is such a relief. And this weekend, we’re planning to take advantage of the wonderful weather by taking the boys to the zoo. It seems like the blazing hot summer will be here before we know it!

Offer Up Double Bob Stroller
I’ve been periodically checking offer up for a double bob stroller, and last weekend I finally scored one in excellent condition for less than half of retail price! I didn’t want to buy a new stroller because we bought our baby jogger city lux stroller new, and this would be stroller number 4. Yes, you read that right, stroller number FOUR. Yes, it’s excessive, and that doesn’t even count our red wagon. The thing is, I don’t love the baby jogger city lux and would not recommend it for several reasons. Most importantly, it’s HARD to push.
At first, I thought it was because I was out of shape from being pregnant, but now that I can run 3 miles without dying, I’m sure that thing is just hard to push. It’s great if you need to get through doorways terrible for just about everything else. Just like our single BOB revolution, the BOB duallie revolution glides along with ease. Unfortunately, KJ also barely fits in the baby jogger seats (he is in the 80th percentile for height), whereas he has room to grow in the new BOB stroller (and our single one.) We’re thinking about selling the baby jogger since it’s in excellent condition, but it would be a more preferred stroller for things like the mall or aquarium and other areas where you need to fit through narrow doorways. Ugh. But for now, I was so happy to score this stroller on Offer Up. As I said, it glides along like your ice skating!
Golden Gate
We got Chinese take-out from Golden Gate last week. It was delicious!
Fitness
This week I finished the Expecting and Empowered program. I’m getting ready to do a full review soon, but I’m so grateful for that program x 1000 percent. I was thinking about what I wanted to do next and decided on going back into Aaptiv. I still have an active Aaptiv subscription and use it for running on the treadmill. So I decided to start their 90-day program with a 4-week foundation, four-week HIIT, and a 4-week combination phase.
Workouts in the 90-day aaptiv program average about 30 minutes but range from 20-50 minutes, which is honestly perfect for me. Right now, I just don’t have the time to dedicate 45-60 minutes to working out five days a week. But a couple of longer workouts on the weekends and 20-30 minute efficient workouts during the week I can totally do. So, that’s where I am at, and I’m super excited about hitting the refresh button with something new.
Last weeks workouts:
- Friday – Aaptiv Run
- Saturday – I think I worked out? haha, I think I did an upper body workout from E and E
- Sunday – off
- Monday – Aaptiv Run
- Tuesday – Off – got a massage 🙂
- Wednesday – modified from Aaptiv
Set 1 x 2 (45 seconds on/15 seconds rest)

Side note here – I always think that I won’t’ be sore after only doing two rounds of a workout. However, I was definitely sore after this workout! I think the time limit and fewer rounds made me work harder than I thought!
