Hi friends! Yesterday was my 30th birthday and it was a wonderful time! I’ll share a little bit more about it in a couple of days. In the meantime, I was looking over the bucket list I made last year (30 things I want to do before I turn 30.) Here is how I did!
Things I did off my bucket list:
Visit at least one new state I haven’t been to. Yes! I went to Chicago for FNCE! It was so fun!
Go to a baseball game – went for my 29th birthday!
With excellent seats might I add!
I went on to three all-girls trips, two were bachelorette parties but they count and the other was Vegas for a conference!
Take care of my skin better:
It isn’t something I regularly talk about I did up my skincare routine. Regular eyebrow waxes make all the difference! Plus I got more consistent using moisturizer and anti-aging creams.
Stop trying to avoid expanding our family:
As many of you know, the road was bumpy but we are so excited to expect one Hungry Baby around October! (Here is the latest preggo update.)
Get Abs I’m proud of:
I’ve struggled a lot with body positivity in my 20’s, but I’ve never been as proud of my body as I am right now.
Continue to Build Hungry HobbyÂ
HH more than doubled in viewership in the past year which I’m so incredibly grateful for. My nutrition counseling services are still going strong and my clients are doing very well. And in addition, I launched WTE? Meal Plans in January!
Faced A Fear
Although I initially said I was going to kill a scorpion, we moved out of an area that has scorpions so I never had to do that. Pregnancy and childbirth are definitely been one of my greatest fears in life, so many things can go wrong. I’m facing those fears every day and I’m damn proud of myself for it.
Let Go of the Past
I did attend some regular counseling this year which was a big bonus in my life.
Attend An Unusual Performance
I feel like if I look back, I’ve done this in my 20’s especially if you count trips to Vegas – wink wink
Volunteer for a cause I believe in:
I did two free posts for the United Blood Services campaign and I donated blood!
Things I didn’t do from last years list:
- take a cooking class
- jet ski
- ski
- pistol squat
- 5 strict pull-ups – although I did get one!
- perform at a karaoke bar
- hike to Havasupai falls in the grand canyon
- go white water rafting
- learn how to shoot a weapon
- catch a fish
- go to the rodeo
- treat myself to a super fancy dining experience
- learn how to change a tire
- go on a hot air balloon
- do a 30-day challenge
My thoughts:
I initially I was upset when I looked at the list, how could I have failed in so many ways? Well, I only gave myself one year to do 30 major things, uh duh! And there are many things I still did do, even in the span of one very busy year. Last year alone we moved, I traveled a ton, I recovered from injuring my back/tailbone a second time, we had a loss, and are now expecting a new miracle. It’s been a busy year full of ups and downs, and I’m proud of all the things I’ve done in my 20’s.
My Before 40 Bucket List
So I figure if I do 4 things a year for the next 10 years I can knock it out of the park! A lot better than trying to do 30 things in one year! You’ll notice that some of the stuff I didn’t do from my 30’s list is on this list, and some of it isn’t.
