Hi, friends! Today we finish up KJ’s second week back to school and my first week back to teaching!
(Random picture from this morning.)
I’m teaching three classes this semester, two online, and one is a hybrid where we meet weekly. It’s funny because before, I would have been stressed out by the drive (It’s a solid 25 minutes) and having to gear myself up to start the year. But now, post-COVID and two babies later, I enjoy the drive. I get time to listen to podcasts or books on audible. I’m thankful for that time, and having students in person feels like I’m making a more significant impact. I’m very grateful! I’m sure I would feel different if I had to make that kind of commute every day, but one day a week is perfect.
Also, KJ loves school, and the house is quiet-ish in the mornings three days a week while the baby toddles around and plays with whatever he pleases without getting it taken out of his hand or having to fight for it. It makes me think that I should probably sign up for KJ for some summer camp or something next summer. I’ll be researching more about what’s available in our area this next year since we won’t be moving in the middle of the summer again. Any suggestions are welcome if you live in the East Valley.

Laundry Schedule
A couple of weekends ago, we did 12 loads of laundry (not exaggerating) in one weekend. After that, I said ENOUGH. I will follow the advice of all the Instagrammers out there who say to do one load of laundry a day and see how it goes. After all, isn’t that supposed to be the benefit of working from home? Being able to throw a load of laundry in during the day? Of course, it’s easier said than done, but so far, I love the laundry schedule! I posted it to the laundry room garage door where it’s in my face, so I can’t forget that was my plan.
I don’t always fold them on the same day, usually, it’s the next day when I put the next load in, but it works to get our weekends somewhat sane. Maybe a cleaning schedule next? Haha, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves now.
Amazon Home Find – Bench
I’m quite happy with this affordable bench we bought off Amazon! Our stairs kind of curve around, leaving an awkward semi-circle space, this bench fits perfectly, and it’s a great place to stash backpacks and bags instead of my counters. Also, it was super easy to put together, less than 30 minutes by myself!
Fitness
Okay, fitness is SLOWLY on the rise after dealing with arch pain (plantar fasciitis) for the last couple of weeks. I’m careful to wear my archies in the house and tennis shoes with my orthotics most of the time. At first, walking seemed to flare it more than working out (even lower body), but yesterday I went on a walk without any problems. So here is what I was able to fit in this week:
Friday (8/19) – Upper Body Workout
I wrote down the workout but not my weights. I’ve been trying to challenge myself and go heavy recently, though!
Saturday (8/20) – Walk Nala 2 miles
Sunday (8/21)- OFF
Monday (8/22) – OFF
Tuesday (8/23) – Lower Body Workout
I did write down my weights here!
#40 x 10 , #30 x 15, #12 , #25, and the rest BW
Wednesday (8/24) – Upper Body Workout
- Walkout PU x 12 (broke these up the second and third rounds, so I did 4 pushups for every one walkout in the interest of time)
- Hip dips x 12 each
- BC’s x 7-9, went heavy with #50
- SA Row #30 x 10 each
- Bent Over Reverse Fly x 15 x #16
- Overhead Tricep Extension #20 x 15
- Pull Aparts 8# Resistance Band
- Bear Hold 10 seconds x 4
Thursday (8/25) – walk Nala 2 miles
