Hello friends! This weeks WTE? Meal Plan should be in your inbox if you are subscriber, if not, you can sign up here for my weekly meal prep guide and meal plans!
How’s life? The semester is wrapping to an end and so does four days a week of commuting downtown. While I LOVE teaching, commuting four days a week is too much with the baby, running the blog, and meeting with clients. Next semester I’ll be teaching two days a week, which will be much better!
So right now I’m working on finishing grading for all my classes and getting finalized there. After that, I’m excited to have some fun Christmas filled, winter weather days with the baby. Because my schedule was so crazy this fall, I’ve missed seeing many of my friends and keeping up with some of the back end work of the blog (like providing more extras for HH subscribers in the library of resources.)
I’m okay that my schedule was crazy, I believe life is a series of sprints and rests (not one continuing never-ending marathon.) Now it’s time to take a bit of a rest in this peaceful winter weather. I’m excited to get back to more evenly split work tasks and a more flexible schedule.
Kitchen Remodel Reveal Time!
I’ve struggled to fit this one in so I figured I’d just do it as part of my Friday Favorites post! Here was what our closed off, galley kitchen looked like right before they opened up the wall. PS the guy getting ready to rip into the wall is Ernie, the owner of Bulldog Design/Build LLC and he is awesome.
I highly recommend Ernie if you live in the East Valley and need any remodeling done in your home. This is not sponsored in any way, we paid full price for our kitchen remodel. We just really enjoyed working with Ernie and his team. (I like to stalk their Insta for ideas @bulldogdesignbuild)
The picture above shows the old countertops, sink, and where the wall was! And now…..
Ernie had his team custom build us a pantry to replace the lost cabinets that were on the wall we knocked out. They honestly look like they were always there the paint matches EXACTLY! He literally saved us thousands of dollars by saving us from having to replace all the cabinets in the kitchen just to get a matching pantry.
The granite is interesting because it’s both beige and grey, but depending on what light it’s in it may look more grey or more beige. It ties together the grey mini subway tile backsplash we chose with our beige cabinets perfectly! Two colors that I feel are difficult to tie together!
We also replaced our tiny two hole sink with a giant stainless steel industrial looking sink. It’s so much easier to do the dishes now! We needed a backsplash to protect the wall from the water from the dishes, I thought Ernie die a great job on designing the trim and layout!
We love our new kitchen, it makes it so much easier to do anything because I can see the baby run circles around the island while I do the dishes or quickly pick up from a meal. Plus, I’ve already been able to film two videos (not released yet) for HH since the wall is open now!
