Happy Hump Day friends! What’s your summer life like? Are you in some place enjoying the pleasant weather? Are your kids home driving you nuts?
I keep wondering what life will be like this time next year? It’s a crazy exciting thought; I hope we go somewhere nice and cool since we can’t travel this year. Wait, I hear traveling with a baby isn’t vacationing? I like a good challenge, haha.
Anyways, here is what yesterday was like, which I guess is what many summer days will be like this year.
I woke up around 5:45 am and got up to feed the dog and eat a kids chocolate chip RX bar. Then I got ready and was out of the house by 6:10 am to take Nala for a walk.
Some days I listen to podcasts and other days I use the time just to think. Today was not a podcast day. When I got home, I made Mr. Hungry his smoothie, made my coffee and caught up on a few things. First thing in the AM I always check my post, social media posts, and scan my email for anything time sensitive.
PS here is how I make my cold brew, and lately, I’ve been adding Fairlife chocolate milk to it, so so so so good!
Once I was finished with that, I started my workout for the day. Since having my QL issues, I’m not working out super hard, mostly doing light circuits. This is what yesterday’s looked like:
- QL Stretch and QL foam roll (do not roll on your spine)
Then I did a circuit:
- Resistance Band Palof Presses
- Farmers Carries (2 sets on the left and one on the right to help with right QL pain)
- Shoulder Stretch/Stability
- QL activators – side lying
- side planks
- step ups
- push ups
I threw the last two in to feel like I was getting a workout in, and it kind of worked. Between the exercises and my theracane,I’m mostly fully functional minus reduced workouts.
Then I quickly showered and got ready for the day, and was starving by the time I was finished. For breakfast, I opted for easy; I had a green smoothie.
Ingredients were:
- 1 scoop collagen
- 1 scoop PBFit
- 1 scoop nutella
- 1 big handful spinach
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Then I got to checking email until my first client meeting of the day. I had a food sensitivity consult in which I recommended against the test at this time. Sometimes the test isn’t right for everyone, and it’s important to me that only those who really will benefit from it go through with it.
Then I got a super fun Amazon delivery, let’s just say, let the nesting begin with 100 baby size hangers! After having some fun with that, I snacked on an apple while I finished checking my email.
I met with another client who just finished her food sensitivity program, ALL SIX MONTHS! She’s done great; I’m so happy for her! We worked on a combo of GI symptoms and hormone balance during the last six months, and she has done so well!
After that, it felt a little early but I was so ready for lunch, I threw together my standard meal of cottage cheese, plantain chips, and mini bell peppers. I watched one episode of the Big Bang Theory while I ate lunch.
After lunch, I worked on several things including catching up on non-time sensitive emails, organizing a recipe shooting schedule, and a few other odds and ends. Then, I went to the store and picked up a few recipe ingredients. When I got back, I set to the task of prepping a few recipes that I will shoot today.
Let’s say there were chocolate and marshmallows involved, so that was my afternoon snack!
From 3 pm – 6 pm was spent working with Megan on the launch of the new What to Eat Meal Plans website as a combined site; we had a lot of things we needed to hammer out. So much so that we ended up talking again for another 45 minutes later on! In between, I caught up with Mr. Hungry and did some recipe prep.
Later I finished my recipe prep, while simultaneously eating a ton of broccoli. For my actual dinner, I ate one of Mr. Hungry’sfrozen Red’s burritos that were recently on sale at Sprouts and some leftover bean dip. Of course, I ate the vegetarian one, but at least eating vegetables and more elaborate meals are happening!
I finished off the night by plopping on the couch to finish this post while Mr. Hungry watched Animal Kingdom. While I typed up this post, I enjoyed a spindrift, my latest obsession. So much better than La Croix, to bad it’s twice as expensive, even at Costco. Baby must have liked it too because I felt lots of kicks while typing up this post! Whew it was a busy day but a productive one and that’s how I like them!

I haven’t had bean dip in forever, but that sounds so good now!
