Happy Tuesday friends! These types of posts are the most requested and it’s fun to record the days with Little Man. I recorded this one last week on Wednesday!
I woke up around 5:15 am, the baby was still sleeping, so I got up and got ready for the day. I hopped on my computer for about 20 minutes before he was up.
We have a fairly similar routine every day. I get ready before he is awake or “allowed” up. Sometimes he is light sleeping and noisy but still asleep from 5-6. Sometimes he wakes up and plays for a while, but we don’t start our day until 6 am. (Of course, if he needed me I would get him like for diaper accidents, bad teething, etc…) After he nurses, we head out for about a 30-minute walk.
I made my breakfast first so I could drink it while he eats his.
On the menu for Little Man is unsweetened So Delicious vanilla coconut yogurt mixed with pears and sunflower seed butter (I rotate between sunflower, peanut, and sesame right now.)
We play for about an hour, and he goes down for his nap at around 9 am. While he napped, I got a workout, shower, and checked email. It was a long nap he slept almost 2 hours!
I nursed him when he woke up, and we headed to Nordstrom Rack. I needed something to wear for my TV segment I had the next day. I’m in that weird stage where all my clothes fit, okay, but none of them make me feel stellar. So, I decided to see if I’d get lucky and find something at the rack.
The only downside is Little Man hates dressing rooms. I joke that Mr. Hungry and he are in cahoots to keep me from spending money. But really, he hates it.
I fed him a squeeze pack while we were in there, which helped a little, but he was still pretty fussy.
The minute we leave the dressing room, happy again.
We stopped at Safeway on the way home to get a couple of ingredients for the segment. We were back around 1:30 pm, and we played on the floor with his toys for a little while before I nursed him.
I put him down for his nap around 2:15 pm, and he slept until 3:50 pm. I’m not gonna lie, I sat down to eat my lunch (turkey taco lettuce boats from WTE? Meal Plans) and wasted the whole hour watching TV. I don’t do this very often (like once a month) but since it was my “off week” I decided to take the rest, so not waste just a rest!
When he woke up, I fed him oatmeal, and he played in his high chair while I cleaned up. About 30 minutes later I nursed him then I prepped for my TV segment while Little Man hung out in his bouncer. TV segments take a LONG time to prep for. Grocery shopping, scripting. getting all the ingredients prepared, it’s a lot, but it’s fun! When Mr. Hungry got home, he took over so I could start this post and get a few other things done.
I also ate my “dinner,” which wasn’t supposed to be dinner but ended up being just that. I started snacking on some deli meat, and then I ate a bunch of carrots and hummus. Then I jumped in the shower (yes, again I needed to wash my hair for the TV segment) and helped get the baby down for bed.
By the time all that was done, the kitchen was clean, and I was prepped for my TV interview, I realized I never ate a real dinner. Instead, I had some So Delicious coconut milk unsweetened vanilla ice cream with sweet bourbon plantains.
I don’t usually eat dessert (except maybe a few chocolate chips), and I typically eat better meals than deli meat but not every day is perfect. Part of it is the limited diet – like maybe I would have had a yogurt bowl or eggs for an easy dinner if I could eat those things but I still can’t so it is what it is.
PS the TV segment went great, and here is what the outfit looked like and the recipe I shared:

Joseph hated fitting rooms as well. I always put his stroller right up to the mirror, gave him some snacks and a truck. Now that he is older, he does better–except for trying to unlock the door! I just learned to try on in super speed haha!!
