Happy friYAY friends! What do you have planned this weekend? I’m getting a NEW oven which makes me super happy! I literally CAN NOT wait! This one doesn’t stay at temp which makes cooking kind of hard. Unless I want to turn it off and turn it back on every five minutes to ensure that it comes back to temp. LAME-O! My friend is coming over today with her new baby to go on a long walk, I’m sure Nala will be super excited, a friend date that she gets to come with!
It’s been a decent fitness week over here! I’m usually a consistent 5 days a week workout person, but this week I only got 4 in.
Still doing my same at home circuit I’ve been doing but really working on increasing and making it harder
- plant no modification
- squats with 15# medicine ball
- subbed jump rope for 10 jump squats and 30 seconds ball taps
- Ab bikes weight weight
- using 15# DBs for step ups
- Increased chest press to 30#DBs, decreased reps to 8 each
- added very light sumo deadlifts, 25#DB x 8 reps
- For the lunges, I increased the weights to 12#DBs and changed the rep count to 8 each, 6 each, 4 each
Wednesday – Off
Tuesday – Off
Monday – Run/Walk 4 miles with Nala
Sunday – Upper Body Workout similar to last week but I’ve been working on adding more stability moves in, will share soon!
Saturday – Off
Friday – Same as Thursday without the deadlifts

Let’s start with our eats from the weekend! On Saturday morning we tried a local crepe place that we’ve been meaning to go to for AGES. We finally went and…..
We loved the eclectic feel of the place and that it was super close to our house, but the menu was kind of blah. We both got a savory crepe, mine ended up being basically a cheese quesadilla and we also got a sweet crepe to split. The sweet one didn’t have a lot flavor but I ate the bananas off it. We both kinda of felt like it was a fail and were a little disappointed! I think I was mostly irritated because they said they didn’t have ANY decaf, like what, nothing? That has to be some sort of discrimination again decaf drinkers right?
On Sunday morning they had donuts after mass, I grabbed one but only ended up eating a few bites because we decided to go to a place we haven’t gone to in forever for breakfast that we knew would be a win!
US Egg is one of my favorite breakfast spots, mostly because they have the half and half breakfast. You can get a half pontune (eggs, veggies, hashbrowns) and a half order of protein pancakes which I always upgrade to waffles! (Sorry no picture of the eggs it was super blurry) I ate the waffle while we were there and then ate the eggs for dinner!
In addition to what I shared yesterday in my little day in the life post, I’ve also been loving this simple meal that was on WTE? Meal plans this week. Steak, sweet potato, and veggies!
Over the holidays Butcher Box (<– affiliate link and HH special)ran a special to its members offering a steak sampler for $49 bucks, so I’ve basically been eating steak every week or so. Steak is by far my favorite way to eat beef, it was the ONLY thing I missed when I didn’t eat red meat for like 5 years!
The other thing I brought back this week (okay once, after I worked out yesterday), PROTEIN PUFFINS!
Basically 3/4 scoop protein powder (my long-time favorite) with almond milk as your milk, and then a cup full of cinnamon puffins. The milk is super sweet from the protein shake, OMG it’s sooo good! I ate it after I worked out yesterday, it was the BEST!
