Friday Fitness
I'm in a groove with workouts! I'm not sure if these posts are getting boring for you guys, but I'm happy to have activity in my life that feels good! Most days I walk Nala about ~40 minutes in addition to this training. So here is a quick recap:
Thursday (2/8) - I planned a run but ended up doing my at home workout, subbing 30 press jacks and 30 seconds medicine ball taps. At this point, I've added a 15lb medicine ball to my squats, 15# dumbbells in each hand during steps ups, lowered the rep count to 7-8 with 30# DB's for chest press, and still using the same 10# DB's for the lunges. Feels good to make progress! That's the one thing about doing the same workout over and over, you can really feel yourself making progress! I'm always dripping sweat at the end of this workout and it's done in 30-40 minutes (depending entirely on my focus level.)
Wed (2/7) - Trimotus & Long Puppy Walk (3 miles)
Tuesday (2/6)- Walked to gym, did upper body circuit I posted last week. Only did 3 rounds of each instead of 4!
I'm doing 80# for lat pulldowns, 15# DBS for AP, and 15# DB for HC's
Monday (⅖) - same as Thursday
Sunday (2/4) - Walk/ Run with Nala bear, we did 4 miles! I'm doing 6 minutes running/ 4 minutes off and it's feeling fantastic! I wish I could work in more running than once a week, but I don't like to wake up early. Running on the treadmill doesn't work, but the nice dirt canal does the trick!
Saturday (⅔) - Usually Mr. Hungry does the cleaning but this was a day after his surgery so I spent all morning cleaning and organizing. I got over 6000 steps just cleaning it was awesome!
Friday (2/2) - same as ⅖ but I only did the first two sets
Food Highlights
I challenged my comfort zone with cooking and tried something new, grilling a whole chicken! I'll have a whole post soon, but like most things in cooking it wasn't that hard once I tried it!
Yesterday I shared a full day of eats, so today is going to be more "food highlights" of the week!
Loving that Bone Suckin Barbecue sauce with no caramel color in it!
Okay, I may have shared this but I really don't think I did! We went to a restaurant new to us in Ahwatukee last weekend called smokin fins. It was kind of for Mr. Hungry's birthday since we never really got to go out to dinner with my back and Grandma getting sick (she is better now). I probably forgot to share it because it wasn't that good. We started with lobster tater tots, Mr. Hungry loved them but I'm not a lobster fan so not my thing.
For dinner, I ordered shrimp tacos which were on interesting corn tortillas that were super thick. The best part of the meal was that rice though, that was DELICIOUS!
I don't know if I'd rush back there but they serve a lot of sushi so maybe I'd give that a try.
I've also been on the smoothie train, and I basically always make the same smoothie!
And Mr. Hungry has been all about the comfort food post op. He loaded up on all the stuff I would normally not let in the house like taquitos, corn dogs, and cinnamon toast crunch.
He even ordered from a Philly cheesesteak place one day. Luckily he is doing a nutrient dense smoothie every morning and drinks green juice when I make it, but that basically means I eat eggs for dinner every night!
Oh and a bite of this every night for dessert, recipe coming to you on Valentine's Day!

Thanks for sharing my dessert! Happy weekend! Hope he's feeling better. That food sure isn't going to help him. But, I get it. Matt's the same way!

So many yummy eats! I'm hit or miss with lobster, but I would totally try lobster tator tots. And we LOVE that BBQ sauce too, they make a spicy one that's hard to find but is delicious 🙂

I've seen the spicy one but haven't bought it yet because it's so hard to find.
