These easy protein pancakes pack 19 grams of protein per serving without using any protein powder, just five wholesome everyday ingredients!
Hello, friends! I’m popping in to share the breakfast I’ve been devouring all week with you! This breakfast is DELICIOUS and actually keeps me full all the way till lunch (no easy task for prego).
I wanted to make my two-ingredient egg white pancake in the mornings, but I wanted something a bit more meal prep friendly. So even though I have 10-15 healthy pancake recipes here at HH already, there can never be enough pancakes, right? And I can’t say I’m mad at how this one turned out, only five ingredients, 19 grams of protein, and zero protein powder used!
I kept trying to use protein powder in these pancakes, but I didn’t like the taste. I like the taste of my protein powder in general, so I think it’s a pregnancy thing. So, again, like in my egg white french toast, I turned to egg whites for protein, and they came out delicious!
Although they have bananas, they don’t have an overpowering banana flavor. Now, I did use just barely ripe bananas, and the more ripe the bananas are, the stronger their flavor will be. Also, in testing this recipe, I noticed that the less ripe the bananas were, the more batter it made and the thicker the batter was, but of course, the less sweet the pancakes were.
This is because green or greener bananas have a type of starch in them called resistant starch. Resistant starch acts like soluble fiber in your GI tract, providing food for the microbiome and improving digestive function, insulin sensitivity, and helping to keep you full.
That being said, any ripeness level of banana will work in these pancakes. I tested them all!

I made these using 5 egg whites and 1 whole egg (to make a cup) and they turned out great. I added chocolate chips to my son’s and blueberries to mine and we both enjoyed them. Super easy to make in the blender and definitely fluffy the way pancakes should be. Thank you for this great recipe!
