Fitness
On Tuesday we thought it would be okay to give the elliptical a try, well that didn’t go so well. The thing is, I’m “hyper flexible” in my right hip (I can kind of dislocate it out of place its pretty narly) which means I was not only at higher risk for injuring myself in the first place, but the recovery time is going to be longer. Last night I came home and had a little sob fest for myself. Paul consoled me for a little while before he’d had enough. He literally dragged me over to the power tower and made me start doing pull ups (yep he lifted me up), then he made me do dips, then he made me do push ups… and repeat. After that I did a bunch of rounds of tabbata abs. I felt a million times better after that, even though I’m not sweating like crazy I can maintain or increase my upper body strength, which lets face it, is pretty scarce.
Tonight:
-4 Minutes of Planks
-A pyramid of 10,9,8,7,6,10- pull ups (Option A: pull up as far as possible, Option B: Resistance band, Option C: Paul spots me), dips, push ups
I CAN ALREADY SEE DEFINITION IN MY ARMS! I was lacking a fitness goal and feeling sorry for myself which doesn’t help anything. Trust me I still want to get back to running and crossfit as soon as possible, but I want my body to adequately heel so this isn’t a chronic problem. So for now I’m working towards a pull up and increasing the number of push ups I can do without stopping. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!
*Note this post was amended to include the juice collage that I forgot, sorry about that!
