Happy Saturday! Yesterday morning started so early with Nala being afraid of the thunder storm :/
She did quite well during the storm, except for the fact she is reluctant to use the yard as her bathroom and would rather use the mat right next to the safety of the house. Well at least I got some work done …. pre workout snack of UCAN and coffee ha ha!
I didn’t want to leave Nala alone too long so instead of going to the gym, I headed upstairs to get a workout in. Another good one it kicked my butt, one more LISS day and then it will be one week down of the BBG! That’s most likely going to have to be Sunday this week because today is quick day, and although I entertained the idea of getting up at 4am to go the gym to workout… that’s silly when I have all day Sunday.
Post workout was cottage cheese and blueberries, love this easy breakfast/snack. I ate it right before I headed out for the most wonderful massage of my life. I’ve been really focusing on trying to better my posture so I had her work on my traps and upper back a lot, holy cow was I tight! I hunch pretty bad, it’s really helped me stand up straighter.
I wasn’t really hungry for lunch but I had to take off to work so I ate stir fry leftovers which I threw a salmon burger into since there were no shrimp left in it.
I snacked on a quest bar while I was on phone call long distance lab reviews.
For dinner I was starving, when the hubby suggested chipotle the answer is always YES! Chicken, brown rice, a whole bunch of salsa, and guacamole.
PB Bites for dessert, obviously I’m obsessed.
Nala Updates 12-14 Weeks
Nala had a few rounds or bouts of gastrointestinal distress which I was terrified might be a parasite or worse, parvo. It turned out the new large breed puppy food Mr. Hungry picked up might have been too much for her to handle. Now she is on colitis pills morning and dinner.
In the last couple weeks it seems like she is losing her puppy face, makes me a little sad. Missy is standng her ground, she actually went after Nala yesterday when she tried to go into the bedroom. I’m proud of kitty for defending her territory. We try to expose them to each other without a baby gate at least once a day, basically Nala has a chance to get beat up by Missy once a day.
She goes on walks regularly, but we had to give it a rest because we made the mistake of walking her way to long. I figured her exhaustion level would be a good indicator but apparently there is a rule, 5 minutes for each month they are old. We figured that out when her poor little paws started bleeding, biggest doggy mom fail moment ever. She,’s fine now though and goes on 15-20 minute walks twice a day. I do most of the walking because I really like to walk her, Mr. Hungry pitches in some late nights and on the weekends.
She still can’t be left alone downstairs so I had to move all my make up and hair stuff downstairs bathroom for the time being. She’s teething and has teethed her way through a garden hose and extension cord, one my fault one Mr. Hungry’s fault. All and all though she listens well, knows basic commands and never pulls when I walk her on the leash. Of course she is getting HUGE, but thinks she is lap dog. She doesn’t have super high anxiety, but she is pretty needy. I know some dogs grow out of it and some don’t, I don’t really mind either way but I can’t wait for her to start puppy training though!
Have a great weekend!
