Hello friends! Happy Friday!
This week has been interesting, to say the least. Mr. Hungry went back to work on Tuesday, and on Monday night, the boys came down with a stomach bug. Fun fun. Luckily my sitter and my MIL were troopers and willing to risk helping out so that I could keep the baby as far away from the boys as possible. Fun times, fun times indeed. But, it’s Friyay which means in two days, baby girl will be a month old, which is wild! I wanted to pop in and share some of the things we’ve been loving the last few weeks.

Food
There has been a lot of eating out, thanks to gracious door dash gifts from friends and family. If not eating out then we’ve been eating a combination of some meals I prepped (see summer freezer meals) and ready-to-eat food like the pulled pork from Costco and salad packs.
Or like this shrimp scampi in the frozen section of Costco mixed with Banza spaghetti! Mr. Hungry served it up with a side of garlic bread! Yum Yum!
Chicken Shawarma is a postpartum staple in our house! It’s one of the few meals I made sure I prepped. (Prepping meals was harder this time as I had some severe pelvic pain making it difficult to stand.)
Collagen oatmeal from Julie’s Blog is another postpartum staple in our house.
And I had to share this pastrami sandwich from La Grande Orange, it was epic! A fun little lunch date with my MIL after she drove me to see my chiropractor 2 weeks postpartum.
Friday Favorites
Folding Step Stool
After seeing my MIL whip this folding step stool out of a drawer at her house, I knew I had to have one. I figured if I had a folding step stool, it would be a lot easier to keep out of reach of KK, who likes to use the stool to get into everything he shouldn’t.
Baby Brezza Bottler Sterilizer
How has it taken me so long to buy one of these sterilizers? For the last two babies, I used Medela sterilizer bags, which meant multiple batches of washing, adding to bags, microwaving, removing from the microwave, putting the next bag in, and placing the cleans on on the drying rack. I was spending 15 minutes pumping and easily 20-30 minutes cleaning.
I can’t believe how much time I’ve saved by investing in this machine! Honestly a lifesaver. I went with the Baby Brezza because of the well-known brand name, the claim that it actually sterilized 99.99% of bacteria, had great reviews, had a warning light if the reservoir wasn’t full of water (I knew sleep deprivation could make this an issue), and had a HEPA filter. It works perfectly as advertised, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to invest in this!
Refillable Water Balloons
Honestly, Instagram made me buy it. And I’m so glad we did. The boys have had a BLAST with these refillable reusable water balloons! KJ can fill them himself, but KK needs a little help. Still hours of fun for the boys, well worth it!
La Viveve 3 in 1 Warming Lactation Massager
This warming lactation massager has been great for helping promote letdown and working out clogged ducts. The heat felt really good, especially in the initial weeks of breastfeeding when I was still having a decent amount of pain.
Fossil Women’s Cora Wallet
My wallet was falling apart, so I told Mr. Hungry to pick me out one for Mother’s Day. The only requirement was it had to have enough space to fit all the cards my current wallet carried. I couldn’t love this Fossil wallet anymore. It has a great amount of space but still keeps a thin profile.
Pipette Infant Care
I realized at the last second I needed to restock my infant care items. I had totally forgotten to order things like body wash, diaper cream, etc. The Pipette brand was new to me, but I was intrigued since all their products are EWG verified. So much easier than looking for EWG brands of every single item. So far, I’ve really liked everything in the set and would totally keep ordering it!
Fitness
I’ve been following the Expecting and Empowered app for postpartum pelvic floor and core recovery. I’m on week four of the core stuff but on week 1 of the walking. I held off on doing any walking initially because, after my birth with KK, I had some bad tailbone/back issues that flared after walking too early without doing any strengthening or seeing my chiropractor. I could feel some tailbone irritation this time, so I took it easy. (After my first I was walking two miles by week two, but after my second my body revolted at that which set me back almost a whole month, so I was more cautious this time!)
I also saw my chiropractor a week ago and am doing a circuit of press-ups, six-month modified planks, child pose, and another exercise which he calls the “butt plank.” ha ha In addition to the pelvic floor recovery circuit from E&E. It’s going well! And turns out baby Genie (KJs new nickname for her which I haven’t decided if I’m keeping for the blog) loves to hang out in the gym! So win win.
