OMG friends. Guess what day it is?
It’s POTTY TRAINING DAY 1! Well, I said it aloud so I guess that means I have to do it right? (I’m writing this Thursday night, hopefully, I don’t wake up Friday and bailout.)
We read the Oh Crap! Potty Training book and we feel he is ready and we don’t want to get any closer to when his little brother gets here. I don’t want to wait till after because he’s already 27 months old and I want to make sure he’s ready before preschool in the fall. (He will be enrolling in a 2 to a 3-year-old preschool program for kids who don’t quite make the Sept 1 cut off.)
Messes don’t bother me that much, but Mr. Hungry said this will be the worst weekend (or more than likely month) of parenthood for him. I think that’s a bit dramatic, but we will see. I’m sure I’ll be missing all the alcoholic beverages this weekend.
Experienced parents, what is your potty training advice? Any words of positivity for us?
This Christmas present from my Aunt was a delightful surprise this week! I didn’t expect the flowers to be so colorful and big! One bud split into three flowers overnight!
The Original Burrito Co has made many appearances here on HH over the years. It’s our go-to breakfast burrito stop since we got married in 2014 and lived in an apartment down the street, it’s been a hot minute since we’ve been there though. #18 with added bacon for me!
This Gyro salad totally hit the spot over the weekend as well! I’ve been craving more veggies and salad which is a welcomed change!
All My Can’t Live Without Subscriptions Came This Week!
Yes, my fridge and freezer are bursting at the seams!
As I mentioned in my full review on Hungryroot, my first box was gifted to me, but I’m now a paying customer and RAVING fan. Check out Tuesday nights dinner:
And dinner is served:
I ate one wrap and Mr. Hungry ate 2 wraps for dinner and took 2 wraps for lunch the next day, leaving me with one wrap leftover! We love that we get a decent amount of meals and food out of each recipe! I’m a big fan.
This week I did something I don’t usually do, I price compared every single item I was about to order on Thrive Market to Instacart since I was filling both orders. I always kind of thought the prices were a bit similar to the natural food store and the Thrive Market, turns out, um, no. I was surprised at how many items were WAAAYYY cheaper on Thrive Market, like almost all of them.
What I noticed was, you get the bigger size on Thrive Market for the same price of the small size on Instacart. I’m guessing this is why I always thought the prices were similar with Thrive being slightly cheaper because I wasn’t paying attention to quantity!
Smoothiebox reload time! I literally ordered 4 boxes of cacao and one box of clementine. We’ve all (including KJ) have been loving the cacao flavor recently. My client told me she adds PB2 and PB to it to make it taste like PB chocolate smoothie, I tried it, loved it, and I’m never going back. With the weather heating up, I’m happy to be stocked and ready for smoothies all day every day.
Mr. Hungry really liked the sausage DH combo we had last week, so I re-upped or DH supply with some more harvest bowls and oats! PS – if you are looking for something healthy for the super bowl, don’t forget they have flatbreads as well!
No cute bump pic this week, I’ve been down to business apparently. I got 3 solid workouts in and lots of walking. I’ll talk more about it in my pregnancy update, but I’ve been having some muscular stomach pain when walking. It usually goes away if I slow down for five or so minutes, but it’s definitely uncomfortable. Overall, I feel like the intensity of the E & E workouts when down this week, which I appreciated because Mama is feeling uber tired recently!
