Eating Healthy With Diabetes At Albertsons
Since there isn’t an Albertsons as close to me as other grocery stores, last week I decided to go scope it out so I could plan out the tours I’m hosting. As I walked around I was really excited to find some of my favorite healthy foods.
The first thing I noticed was how beautiful their produce section was, like something out of a magazine!
Oh, hey there huge wall of convenient pre cut and washed veggies (aka the best section ever)
Plus tons of healthy dips like salsa, guacamole, and hummus
Did you know berries are among the lowest sugar fruits? Just one of many tips you’ll learn on the tours!
Although they don’t have a bulk foods section, they do have items packaged from bulk so they are great prices, love the variety of nuts and seeds!
Tons of whole grains and whole grain bread to choose from but I was surprised to see one of my favorites, eureka bread!
And of course they have many other staples I decided to grab since we were running low, like cottage cheese:
I noticed almost immediately that they are carrying the O Organics brand, one that I love! I actually have the Cooking Light with O Organics cook book and I love it! I was also really excited to find Grass-fed beef!
and a whole wall full of Aidells chicken sausage…
Shout out to Perfect Fit Meals, I forgot they launched in Arizona Albertsons! I love their meals and was excited to see they expanded their product line!
The best part of my purchases? The chicken that redeemed me from my lack of meal prep last week! When all else fails just grab a rotisserie chicken and keep on going on!
I’m honored to be a hosting Dietitian for three of the tours, as I said, grocery store tours are one of my absolute favorite parts of being a Dietitian. Please share this information with your family, friends, co-workers, clients and patients, tours will be conducted nationwide so make sure no one misses out on this awesome opportunity!
