Hi Everyone,
Many of my favorite blogs, (especially Julie’s at PB Fingers) are posting this survey, I thought it would be a great way to introduce myself so here it goes!
1. What did you eat for breakfast?
French Toast Scramble that I made the night before, from one of my favorite bloggers at CNC with raisins and cinnamon. I should probably go ahead and disclose my addiction to adding raisins and cinnamon to all my breakfast foods now.
I also impulsively stopped at starbucks and got a skinny caramel latte… sooooo goooooooddddddd….
2. How much water do you drink a day?
I usually drink 2-3 water bottles (32oz) a day, usually in the afternoon as my mornings leave little room for anything other than my addiction to caffeine.
3. What is your current favorite workout?
Since I moved to the desert for the summer I joined a gym and have been trying out all their classes all week. They’ve all totally kicked my butt (body pump, body bootcamp, and zumba) especially after taking two weeks off for graduation festivities and moving, but hands down my favorite was Zumba!
4. How many calories do you eat a day?
Most likely somewhere around 1,500.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
SNACK TIME IS MY FAVORITE TIME… right now I’m really into some classics like
– Kashi Trail Mix Bars- Fruit and Almond Butter- Nuts- Popcorn
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
This is a tough one because at my clinical rotation I get free food. I know I’m probably the only person in the world that complains about free food…. but it’s been really hard for me to find a balance of eating enough/not overeating. I’m very use to bringing my own lunch and planning out a weeks menu for myself. Today’s lunch was the first real winner, I was full but not stuffed and it lasted from lunch time at 11:30am to after work at about 4:00pm. I chose lots of lettuce and grilled chicken, with two scoops of beans/corn relish, pinch of cheese, pinch of tortilla strips and avocado dressing on the side. I then went over to the regular salad bar and loaded up tons of diced tomatoes and stole/sequestered some hot sauce.
7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
I have to confess I am a newbie to strength training, I use to only want to burn calories through lots of cardio but man have things changed. With the wedding coming up I’m focusing on completely toning my shoulders and arms.
8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
It’s all hard, it just sucks a little less the more you do it.
9. What are your “bad” food cravings?
Everything in moderation is the dietitian’s lifelong motto but this changes. I will never and I mean never turn down mexican food or chocolate. It just won’t happen.
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
Right now I take a whole foods women’s multivitamin, calcium/vitamin D chews, and Vitamin D.
11. How often do you eat out?
If the free food at the hospital includes “eating out” then every weekday. If we aren’t counting that or starbucks excursions then 0-3 times a week ish…. final answer = highly variable
12. Do you eat fast food?
The only drive through I frequent is Starbucks/Einsteins Bagels Brothers, other than that not really.
13. Who is your biggest supporter?
Paul, my fiance, is wonderful and encouraging and I just can’t wait to get married to him!
14. Do you have a gym membership?
Yep. For the time being it’s at 24 hour fitness.
15. How many hours do you sleep at night?
The goal is 8, usually 7-9
16. Do you have a “cheat” day?
I’m pretty good at planning splurges and giving into my cravings in moderation. I haven’t really restricted myself from anything specific in a really long time. That being said I generally give myself a little extra on “Fat Thursday” (developed by my grad school roommate and future bridesmaid, Jenny and I) to push through till the TGIF moment.
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Yep. Summertime = margaritas. I like to make my own with a little agave nectar and lots of lime juice or diet lime soda, or skinny margarita mix.
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
Right now, nope not really. I’ve only been in the desert a week people!
19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?
My life has become one big set of hobbies I’m so passionate about and make me feel good. With a healthy lifestyle comes so many opportunities like cooking, fitness, traveling, spirituality and so much more. It goes so much farther than just eating carrots every day with your lunch it’s about nurturing yourself. Giving to yourself what your body needs so that you can enjoy life to the fullest. The best thing that has changed since changing my lifestyle is the happiness it brings me. 🙂
20. What is the last healthy thing you did?
Brushed my teeth!
