Hi Friends & Happy New Years Eve! Here is what this post looked like last night when I wrote it “Last run of the year done, thanks to my new running group who motivates me to get up at ungodly hours of the morning like 5:00AM! A nap will be in order before the festivities tonight that is FOR SURE!”
What really happened —->I showed up at the run group at 5:30am, only to recheck the email which clearly states 5am. I just finished the serial podcast season 1, so let’s just say I’m not about to run in the dark by myself. So I got an early start on the work for the day and waited to leave till 7:30. I’m kind of glad I did because the run was the coldest it’s been in a long time, I could see my breathe the whole time I was out there!
I’d love to tell you that it was the best run of the year, or even just really good, but it kind of wasn’t. I got lost, had to stop a few times because the gravel got so thick I couldn’t run, and I was tired (maybe from waking up at 4:50). That being said, I never get down on myself when a run isn’t fantastic because to me, every run is a gift, and I’m happy to be able to run AT ALL. So I guess this run was a good reminder of how excited I am to be back to running and, for the most part, out of pain (I flare occasionally like with traveling.) So there it is, last run of 2015!
I know this is a weird post for the end of the year, but I really think yummly is worth sharing because it would be a great tool to bookmark or download the Phone App to help you get organized and on track in the new year. Yummly is kind of new to me, I really only started using it this month. I kept seeing yum this, yummy threads, and yum on pinterest (let’s be friends there too) but I couldn’t quite figure it out. Clearly I was WAY behind the times. Here is the thing, I was a HUGE fan of ziplist, like maybe their number one fan (I have a small tattoo, it’s unfortunate they were bought out…. JUST KIDDING…) I did however, have all my recipes from before and after I started blogging saved in my recipe box. So convenient to plan the weeks meal plan, add the ingredients to the list and be done! Since they went down and the recipe clipper didn’t work (I think it probably does now but they lost me as a user), I’ve kind of just been bookmarking, pinteresting, emailing, or just trying to remember recipes with the help of google. Now, with yummly all my recipes are saved in a neat little place for my viewing and planning pleasure. Not only that but it also has the create and add to shopping list feature which makes life SUPER EASY, half the battle of staying on the healthy train is organizing the tracks one set of iron/metal/whatever at a time if you know what I mean… yummly helps you find new exciting recipes and organize your tracks all in one place!

Side Note: Anyone remember when I used to do healthy living Phone App reviews on the regular? I think that may have been the first Hungry Hobby series? I found a lot of good ones that way!
Hungry Hobby Official Page
The nice piece about this is that I didn’t actually create a Hungry Hobby page, my page was created by the yummly admin when people started “yumming” my recipes. As a blogger and publisher I love the natural organic way your page is built and recipes are shared. I mean the last thing I need is another platform to have to click a million times to get people to see my recipes, with yummly I yum them once and then the community takes over, it’s actually really neat! You can check out the page here and yum your favorite Hungry Hobby recipes to add them to your own recipe box!

Have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve! Provided Nala isn’t hacking up a lung (thanks the boarding place she got kennel cough, yes she was vaccinated, apparently it’s like the flu one vaccine may not be enough) we will be hanging out with some friends keeping it low-key but I expect a fun time! Tomorrow I’ll be back with my year-end recap and my new goals for next year!
