Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry no post yesterday things just kind of got away from me. It started with a trip to the “pain” doctor. Something I’ve been avoiding doing for a long long long long time, I did not want any more shots outside of prolotherapy. However, I think 13 months of chronic pain in the butt (literally) warrants another opinion and options. Verdict? She thinks it may not be Pirformis Syndrome as we suspected but another condition known as Weaver’s Bottom. Either tendonitis in the hamstring origin or an inflammation in the bursa sac on the ischial tuberiosity (read SITS bone). Problem is the two conditions mirror each other in symptoms. Anyways, I’m on a strong dose of anti-inflammatories (celebrex) and have seen minor improvements. Scheduled for the steriod injection next week or the week after depending on how quickly insurance improves it. I’ll be sure to update when I know more!
I spent the rest of yesterday studying, doing chores and hanging out with my favorite little one.
Oh and eating super bowl leftovers of course. Wasn’t the half time show kick butt????? Katy Perry = awesome.
Okay so I don’t have the best excuses for no blog posting yesterday except I did get a lot of NASM cpt studying done, AND I was processing through my new potential diagnosis. IF this is the case and it’s a bursa issue that means two things: one that would make sense why I responded well in my first round of Physical Therapy (I was on another strong anti-inflammatory) and two it should be easy to fix, which means running again is a possibility by March. I NEED that, I really do. Running is a stress release that makes me feel strong and accomplished, I can’t wait to welcome it back into my life. Another thing I can’t wait to bring back into my life, HOT YOGA, this week, it’s sooooo happening!
Breakfast this morning was one of my favorite meals, Egg White Banana Pancake topped with coconut peanut butter!
Now I’m off to work! Looking forward to a fun day which includes training with one of the assistant department heads at the gym. Since I quit, got fired, released, referred elsewhere (or whatever you want to call it) from PT he has been helping me figure out how to go back to regular activity. Still fighting my anterior hip rotation and strengthening the core/hip to keep that sucker in place! So there is that, ha ha! Have a good one 🙂
What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?
The one about the “throwing like a girl” was by far my favorite! Girl Power!
