Hi, friends! How was your long weekend? I hope you had a wonderful time, did you go anywhere fun? The heat has kind of put me in a fog, every time I venture outside I almost instantly regret it, so naturally, we’ve been kicking it at home a lot. Luckily with the start of football season, there are football games to look forward too. I’m not a diehard football fan, but I do look forward to a reason to eat and hang out with friends!
As for our weekend, we totally knew we’d be grilling every day we could, so on Friday night we took a trip to Walmart for some essential ingredients including ground beef
and HERDEZ® Salsa Verde.
HERDEZ® Salsa is the secret ingredient in these burgers. It keeps the super lean meat moist and adds a burst of fresh, delicious and authentic flavor.
HERDEZ® Salsa has actually been a staple in our house for quite some time. So, in true hoarder fashion, I grabbed three jars (two HERDEZ® Salsa Verde and one HERDEZ® Salsa Casera). One to go inside these delicious burgers and two to have around for when last minute get-togethers happen.
During football season, I feel like we are always having people over randomly with very little planning. So, I always try to make sure I’ve got an extra jar of HERDEZ® Salsa to help me create last minute recipes or to just quickly crack open and enjoy fresh authentic flavors with friends and family.
Make sure to check out Authentic Style Salsa Recipes at Herdez for creative ideas on grilling, marinades and more!
On Saturday we braved the heat and got to grilling, well truth be told, Mr. Hungry got to grilling. The last time I tried to grill I couldn’t even get the coals lit. I mean it didn’t help that we didn’t have lighter fluid or a proper working lighter, but still, it didn’t go very well. I prefer to team up with Mr. Hungry because while he is grilling, I’m cleaning and by the time the food is done we can relax and eat!
Braving the heat was totally worth it though. I mean, honestly, there is nothing better than a juicy, cheesy burger with a spicy kick, hot off the grill. Nothing really compares to each melt in your mouth bite of juicy goodness. Aimiright?
Mr. Hungry enjoyed his with the lightened up potato salad he requested I make again. After photographing, I devoured my burger over a giant salad with chopped bell peppers and HERDEZ® Salsa Verde as my “salad dressing” which really amped up the flavor while keeping it calorie friendly!
We ended up having some friends over on Monday to kick off football season with and we served these up after reheating in the microwave. They were just as delicious as when we pulled them off the grill so you could definitely make these ahead before everyone comes over and still totally wow them when you are ready to serve them up at half-time!

Aw, this was a very good post. Finding the time and actual effort to make a great article… but what can I
say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don’t manage to get anything done.
