Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone! Sorry this post isn’t going up on its usually scheduled Sunday time, I had a lot going on this weekend! Let’s get to it…
I went to all three stores again this weekend…Hello, My Name is Kelli and I’m addicted to grocery shopping. On the bright side I have enough to last us probably close to a month again. I’ll probably just need a couple veggie runs or something later on this month.

The Pure Protein bars shown in the Costco picture caught my eye- what’s you opinion on these? Are they a protein bar you’d recommend? I’m always on the hunt for affordable ones! 🙂
Thanks for all your insight on this post and blog in general! It’s one of my favorite reads!

Hi Elizabeth! Great question! I used to be obsessed with those because they were so cheap and the nutrition profile is desirable. However, that was before I would actually read and look at the ingredient lists on things. The ingredients in the pure protein bars are not terrible overall but there are many preservatives, sugar alcohols, artificial sweeteners and soy derived ingredients that I generally steer clear of now a days. I’ve switched to Quest bars (I go more for the stevia sweetened flavors), oh yeah bars, or Ostrim Jerky for protein snacks. I know those things are not nearly as cheap though! If you look for them you can get some pretty great deals on Quest Bars, I got them on the sale rack at sprouts for less than a dollar a piece the other day, groupon is another fabulous place to look! Thanks for all your compliments glad you enjoy the blog!
