Happy Friday friends! I know this post always seems to go up late so you’re probably reading it on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Happy whatever day you get around to reading it!
Food Favorites
Dr. Praeger’s Plant-Based Protein
Okay, so I’m not usually a fan of “fake meat” AT ALL. Mostly because it is usually composed of a ton of texturized soy protein or hydrolyzed gluten. For the most part, I try not to consume a ton of soy and gluten so I stay away from plant-based meat substitutes.
So, when Dr. Praegers reach out to send me some samples of their gluten and soy free products I was intrigued. Overall I really liked them, they were much better tasting than any other veggie burger/product I’ve ever had (and I had a ton when I was in grad school at Loma Linda since the school is vegetarian.) I used them in place of chickpeas in the veggie tahini bowls from this weeks meal plan (see the plan here.)
I think they would be a great option during lent or for meatless Mondays! My MIL also really really liked the beet veggie burgers!
Bold Bites from Foster Farms
If you missed yesterdays post, check out my five post-workout snacks now! Pre-flavored chicken packets in individual portable containers – what more can a mama ask for? I’m obsessed with these Bold Bites, I’ll definitely be buying more at the store.
Cast Iron Cooking
There is something about cast iron cooking that just feels special, I can’t quite put my finger on it but I like it. I love that you can brown meat and then put it in the oven to bake it all in one pan, LESS DISHES IS PROBABLY REALLY WHAT I LOVE! HA HA Made these chimichurri chicken thighs last night from last weeks meal plan which was AMAZING!
Chipotle
Remember my obsession with Chipotle during pregnancy? It’s back! Mainly because I can sidestep any potential allergens while I’m doing little mans breastfeeding elimination diet plus Chipotle always sounds good!
More Favorites – aka recent Amazon wins
Bottle Brush and Nipple Cleaner
Apparently, bottle brushes are a thing? My MIL gently suggested that I get one, at first I thought it was stupid but now I LOVE IT.
Wolvol Friction Powered Garbage Truck
I have to tell you that Mr. Hungry ordered this garbage truck for my nephew for his birthday and it was a HUGE hit! If you have a 3-year-old boy you need a present for I would recommend this very lifelike garbage truck. I crumpled up “trash” paper and spread it on the floor and he cleaned it up with his garbage truck. Maybe a good teaching activity too?????
Amazon fails –> all the teething toys that little man really isn’t into. He prefers my hand or other peoples hands. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears!
Fitness
Workouts are starting to pick up and I’m loving it! I’m also appreciating our home treadmill more and more. I put two of my workouts this week in pinnable graphics for you guys. I feel like I’m going SUPER FAST but compared to my pre-baby self I’m definitely a bit slower. If those of you trapped in the polar vortex need a collection of faster treadmill workouts, here are 23 Boredom Busting Treadmill Workouts!
You can also always modify if I start at 6.0mph you just start at 5.0mph for a slower workout or 7.0mph for a faster workout. Consistently subtract or add 1.0 mph throughout the workout to finish it up.
