Hi friends! I’m sorry for the long absence. It’s been a crazy time over here in the Shallal household! This will be a very short post, but I wanted to jump in and say hi really fast! (For the second time since I wrote this whole post once, and it deleted itself. So I’m really winning today.)
So the good news is, we FINALLY moved into our new house! Finally, after six long weeks, we have not only our own home but our forever home. We love it so much and are so grateful. But let me back up just a bit because I’ve been gone from the blog for almost two weeks.
Two Saturdays ago, KK got a nasty stomach bug that slowly made its way around the family. It went from the baby to Mr. Hungry to KJ. Luckily I never got it, or if I did, I was asymptomatic (which is a thing with the norovirus outbreak going on right now.) But I was without sitters all week until the day we moved (Friday.)
Between moving and catching up on what I missed the week before, I couldn’t find a spare second to jump on here—hoping to be back to regularly scheduled blog content next week! In the meantime, we are mostly unpacked, just a lot of reorganizing, hanging pictures, and decorating. We’re also currently getting our roof replaced, and the AC went out upstairs, so you know, the fun with the not-so-fun. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here next week!

Favorites
I’ll spare you the details of the millions of child locks and random other boring purchases of the last two weeks. But, I will share a few good ones.
Utility Cart
With KJ, we didn’t need to keep art supplies anywhere because we didn’t have any. Now KJ needs art supplies, and KK needs to stay out of the art supplies. So I bought this utility cart to wheel in and out of the downstairs coat closet!
72 Jar Spice Rack
At my old house, we had an over-the-door spice rack hanger for the “pantry” – I use that term loosely. It was more a closet than a pantry, but still. Here I ran out of space for spices, so I ordered this spice rack, and although transferring all my spices to the jars was painstakingly tedious, I honestly love it. I can see all my spices. They are easily accessible, easy to put right back where they belong, and it looks pretty fancy on my counter. So, I’m a big fan!
Bamboo Kitchen Organizers
I also upgraded my old dollar store plastic kitchen organizers to bamboo ones!
- Expandable 3 Tier Spice Rack (Yes, I have even more spices than what’s on the counter in the spice rack.)
- Expandable Silverware Tray
- Kitchen Drawer Organizer
- Bamboo Drawer Dividers
Fitness
Nothing – I ran for the first time yesterday, so that was good! And we’ve been walking a lot in our new neighborhood to get to know it. Yesterday I went on a long walk and could see my old neighborhood from the very end of this one. Feeling very blessed to have been able to stay in this area!
