Good Morning! Per usual the day kicked off bright and early with a walk with little miss Nala. She’s getting so big but she hasn’t quite lost her puppy face yet!
Followed by a Detox Smoothie
We walked for almost 35 minutes this morning, she’s getting older and able to walk longer which I love. I was thinking while we walked this morning, should I be counting this as exercise? Our little walks definitely help to increase my step count, but I don’t really count them as “exercise” because I don’t go fast enough to get my heart rate up substantially. I more count them as a way to increase my movement throughout the day.
Below are some sort of D.TOX meals & snacks from yesterday. I grabbed the wrong meal to go so that wasn’t D.TOX friendly because it had a little bit of honey, and totally forgot my honey mustard for my zucchini sticks should also be avoided for a bit. Oh well, I’ll do better today!
Chicken with butternut squash, mahi burger and goat cheese salad, pumpkin seeds, zucchini sticks and cucumber. Not perfect, but I’m trying!
What do you think? Do you count walks as exercise?
What’s the hardest thing about D.TOX for you?
Avoidance of eggs and peanut butter. My two favorite food groups.

Yes, walking definitely counts as exercise! In this day and age, I think that anything that gets a person up, moving and off the couch counts 🙂

I’d like to think walking counts as exercise when it gets the heart rate up for at least 30 min. I’m worn out from a 3 mile walk if I’ve kept my pace to an almost slow jog. Plus walking terrain where there are hills and up/down helps to burn some calories, or so that’s my thought.
As for detox, oh man I’ll let you know how that goes but I already know I’ll miss my coffee!
