Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was, for the most part, laid back.
Friday
We kicked off Friday night with Happy Hour at Spinatos which was SO GOOD. You can’t go wrong with pizza and wings on a Friday night.
I love it when they serve you HUGE side salads
We got the Mama Spinatos “Signature” Fresh Spinach and it was literally amazing. It was topped with sweet sauce and a mound of spinach and cheese, probably the best pizza I’ve had in a while. We already have plans to meet a friend there next Friday.
Saturday
I slept in which was glorious and then started my day with a lovely omelet (1 big handful of microgreens, 1 egg and 1/2 cup egg whites.)
I’ve never been a pizza for breakfast type person but that pizza was so darn good, I decided to skip the pear and have a small slice of pizza instead. I didn’t really drink the ice coffee either, it went back in the fridge.
That’s because while Mr. Hungry was golfing I headed to Dutch Bro’s for a Chocolate Macademia Iced Coffee with a spash of cream. Love their large coffees for the price of a medium NO MATTER WHAT.
Then I headed to Roadrunner Sports for a Shoe Dog analysis, did the grocery shopping, stopped by Lowes and ate the rest of the pizza leftovers for lunch. In the evening we went to mass, ate dinner (random assortment of food) and watched a movie. Like I said, pretty laid back and relaxing 🙂
Sunday
Sunday runday! I couldn’t wait to try out my new shoes (Asics Gel Duomax- back to stability with no inserts) but the run ended up being REALLY hard. Mr. Hungry skipped it because he was having some foot pain from golf and it’s probably good he did because the whole thing took concerted effort and many many stop/walking breaks. You know what though? It’s longest I’ve ran since I got injured so I couldn’t be more proud of myself!

Not my best run ever, but I looked back at the route (using Map My Run) and every place I had trouble or had to stop was a considerable incline, guess I didn’t plan that out the best. I think it may be time to head back to the park I used to do my long runs at instead of trying to weave my way around my house, too many hills! Even though I know hills are good for training, I prefer to tackle them on shorter runs. I’m also thinking it’s time to stop being lazy and make a running playlist instead of using Pandora… I definitely wasn’t feeling it on the run.
After the run it was return of the ice bath (probably wasn’t necessary but I’m not taking any chances) and a GIANT green smoothie!
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 date
- 1 spoonful peanut butter
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop Chocolate Formulx Recovery Protein Powder (affiliate link)
- big handful of spinach
Note: The Coconut Water winner was contacted yesterday, thanks for entering if you did.

Woohoo love the new shoes!! And a bad run is better than no run, especially when it’s your longest since getting injured. It’s always exciting to get those out the way!
A new playlist always always makes my run so much better… even when it’s not that much better on the clock; it feels better in my head and that’s what matters, right? 😉

Aww thanks Meme, I was injured for what felt like forever (almost 5 months!) so I’m proud no matter what! I definitely need to get a new playlist going… I should do that now instead of pinteresting…. ha ha
