Hi Friends! How was your weekend? Saturday was really busy for us but Sunday was luckily a little more relaxed. Saturday morning I woke up to join the run club I joined for my 6 mile taper run. However, my knee was bothering me (the outside left possibly IT band irritation), I think from the long walk I took Nala on? I got up, foam rolled, did my exercises and some stretches and ultimately decided to go back to bed. I REALLY did not want to but I knew it was the best decision. If hurt bad enough (it was achy) that I was that torn about going then I knew I shouldn’t go, but that decision was harder than I thought to make.
So we went to a friends brunch to meet the newest member of their family, so precious, but I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t want to be the weird one taking pictures. After the brunch we took Paul’s grandma to Costco. Spending the afternoon with Grandma is always fun, especially when she buys her 28 year old grandson 25 cent gumballs.
Gumballs from Grandma! Isn’t she the cutest?
After Grandma’s we decided to head to the vigil mass so that I could get my run in Sunday morning. This picture is kind of weird but whatever you can’t win them all.
I’m happy to report my run went well, my knee was a little sore but not bad. I just kept asking myself, how I was going to double my mileage next week. Luckily the forecast isn’t predicting rain anymore!
After my run we took little miss Nala to the dog park since she was kenneled almost all day Saturday and we had plans Sunday night. She of course had loads of fun playing with all the other pups. Even though she has recovered from her Kennel cough, thank goodness, she still has a bit of lingering allergies. So we didn’t let her stay as long as usual because we didn’t want her to get tired out. She is already tired from the anti-histamines she is on. I didn’t snap a pic of her at the park, but I did get a few of her demolishing a bully stick on Saturday night.
And Missy still hanging out upstairs… some days she sneaks downstairs when the puppy is sleeping.
An epic loss on Saturday night for the cards, enough said. At least we had some delicious eats! Our friends made homemade whole wheat pretzels and cheese dip! I had a lot of cheese dip. Cheese dip is definitely my weakness!
When we got back I put together Mr. Hungry’s lunches, the exact same thing as last week. Crockpot carrots have been awesome I’ll share soon!
Weekends go by crazy fast don’t they? Why are they so short?????
