Hi, friends!
Guess what? At the end of this post I have a little giveaway for you, don’t miss it!
On a side note, I planned to record Tuesday, but Tuesday was a messy, chaotic day. Do you have those days? Somehow I still managed to record enough of it to share, but anyway, here it goes. PS I’m so sorry this post didn’t go up yesterday, thanks for hanging in there with me and for stopping by the blog today!
I woke up feeling SUPER groggy but I promised Mr. Hungry I would make him smoothies this week so I made a batch of his and her smoothies. (I forgot to take a picture so here is a recycled one.)
After that, I got ready for class. I was still a little hungry, so I ate a banana on the way to class. The class I taught was on bone health this week (see nutrition tips for maintaining strong bones)! A good week, but dang our bone densitometer can be a little finicky. I had to get another professor to help me work it. After class, I practically INHALED a health warrior bar on my way to my doctor’s appointment. (Too hungry for a photo.)
When I got home, I was pretty hungry, so I dug into a healthy no-cook lunch!
I was pretty hungry a few hours later, so I ate a key lime bar that my friend Megan brought me last weekend! She develops AMAZING recipes for her site as well as other sites, including Paleo Hacks, You can find the recipe for this bar here. I’ve been enjoying one every day, they are so filling and delicious! I’d definitely recommend them for a summer potluck or just healthy dessert!
For dinner, we kept it easy with some leftover hot dogs and veggies.
Now onto the giveaway!
The nice folks at Health Warrior donated two boxes of bars to two lucky HH readers! I’ve been in LOVE with their bars for a while now. The ingredients are super clean and they contain a load of pumpkin seeds! In case you didn’t know pumpkin seeds are great for both female and male hormone health. For females, I use them as part of seed cycling. And yes, for those of you who asked I do count one Health Warrior Pumpkin Seed Bar as one full dose of pumpkin seeds for seed cycling. For males, pumpkin seeds are a rich source of zinc which is vital for adequate testosterone production. So it’s good for everyone!
They are also rich in magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium. Research links consumption of pumpkin seed and pumpkin seed oil to potentially benefit heart health, prostate health, mental health, bladder health, blood sugar regulation, and even hair loss!
I made my own version (almost 5 ingredient pumpkin seed bars) but sometimes I understand you just don’t have time to make everything you consume from scratch. It would be nice, but not always realistic even for me a healthy lifestyle/food blogger. That’s why I’m super excited about this giveaway, enter below and good luck!
