Hi Friends! I promised to share photos from Christmas and I finally go them all together! We were lucky enough to get to spend a few extra days hanging out with these two before Christmas (my nephew Joseph and sister in law Megan).
We did a lot of fun things like go on walks to see the horses!
And take Nala and little J to see Santa Paws, who is apparently a lot less scary than the real Santa Claus! PS I highly recommend Petsmart for family photos. We got the picture I posted on Christmas with only a five-minute wait. Plus, little J LOVED Santa Paws much more than he liked Santa Claus.
I ended up giving little J his Christmas present early! We got him and his parents a new umbrella stroller which he LOVED (we ordered this one from Amazon.)
Now onto actual Christmas Eve! Lot’s of fun stuff, like making a gingerbread house!
Gawd I love frosting! Sadly the kit we bought from Trader Joes was kind of a disappointment. You had to make the frosting and it didn’t taste really great. But little man didn’t know that, he loved it! Check out the frosting on the cheek, so cute!
Did anyone else buy the TJ’s kit? Next year we are definitely sticking with Costco so we don’t have to make an extra batch of frosting out of nowhere.
We went to Mass on Christmas Eve, the early mass at 4 pm. I guess it was the children’s mass so the priest’s homily was spoken to the kid which I had never seen, it was really cool. The nice thing was it was still light enough after Mass to take some photos! PS got my dress from Target!
Christmas Eve dinner is always Mexican Food in our house! Tamales (from Costco) and all the appetizers we can get our hands on! I also made the lamb rack I got in the holiday box from Butcher Box.
Christmas started super early at 6 am with the little one. Although it was hard to get up so early it was worth it for this little guy!
For Christmas dinner, which was more like a lunch, we made a lamb roast for the holiday Butcher Box. To season it we just used a lamb rub blend I randomly had from some food convention show I went to, I don’t even remember which one!
We also made bacon green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, lemon herb salmon, and ham.
This Christmas was definitely totally centered on my nephew and the dog, but that’s the way it should be right? The last time we experienced Christmas with kids was in 2010 when Mr. Hungry’s cousins were visiting Arizona. Since then it has been adults on Christmas so it was so fun to have our nephew here with us! It definitely felt like the Nala and Joseph show because managing them and making sure they were constantly entertained was the priority, but totally worth it! Christmas with kids is definitely way more special and fun, that’s for sure!
Of course, there were also lots of desserts! Still is haha anyone else need a detox, I know I do! Sadly I forgot to take a photo though! How was your Christmas? What was your favorite thing you got or you ate?
