I didn’t get to tell you on Thanksgiving but I need you to know that you are what I’m most thankful for. Every morning I practice gratitude and appreciation for all the things in my life I’m most thankful for, and you beautiful, you are on the list. You make Hungry Hobby possible, I literally couldn’t do it without you. But that’s the best part, I do it for you. At times I feel selfish, I mean I get to spend some of my days cooking, creating, and eating all in the name of Hungry Hobby. Then there are other days when I make a recipe seven trillion times and it still doesn’t taste right. Or days like yesterday, when the technical aspects of blogging made me want to pull my hair out.
Then I remember my why.
Why I get out of bed every morning and work to build Hungry Hobby to make it just a little bit better every day.
I get out of bed every day and start working, not just to pay my mortgage, although that’s necessary, I do it because I believe in a world where the power of nutrition is recognized as the ultimate healer, not the ultimate enemy. I do it because I vividly remember what it was like to not know how to make anything other than top ramen and Kraft mac and cheese. I want to show you guys that if I can do it, you can do it too. I want to make it easy for you and I want to make it convenient for you.
I also do it because I remember when I thought calories were all that mattered and that crappy tasting diet food was the way to be healthy. I want to share with you the gift of healthy food that is as good for you as it tastes. I want to answer your questions, I want to be your resource.
I want to do everything for you because you’ve given me a space to create, to share, to earn a living, and to immerse myself in. For that, I am forever grateful.
That’s why I survey my readers twice per year, once in December and once during Hungry Hobby’s blogiversary. I need to know the good, the bad, and the ugly so I can continue to build something that you find useful. You know how sometimes you tell the universe what you want and she laughs at you. This is your chance to be heard, at least as far as Hungry Hobby goes!
