Hi friends! What are your plans for this weekend? Happy Easter by the way! Usually, we take Grandma to Whole Foods and have a nice meal sitting outside. But, last year their hot bar kind of disappointed, they didn’t really have traditional Easter foods like they did in the years past. Plus, their carrot cake SUCKS. It’s dense and there is not enough cream cheese frosting. So we opted for a small celebration here including ham, hot dogs (it’s AZ grilling season!), scallop potatoes from TJs, deviled eggs, and broccoli slaw. Oh and the MOST important part. Carrot cake, not sure from where yet, but real good carrot cake will be on the menu! Whatever is leftover Mr. Hungry will take for work.

Now onto the Friday usual…
Fitness
My ankle is slowly feeling better and only hurts randomly for like a second sometimes so that’s good! Able to return to most fitness this week but haven’t really tried running yet, next week! Long walks with Nala last about an hour, shorter walks are anywhere between 30-45 minutes.
Friday (3/23)- I did a 20 minute HIIT workout on the elliptical and then a workout similar to this one from PBF
Saturday (3/24)- OFF/ took Nal to the dog park
Sunday (3/25)-
After not working out for a week, this workout left me sore the ENTIRE week, it was a good one so I made it pinnable for you!
Monday (3/26) – Upper Body Workout + shorter Nala walk
Didn’t record it because my phone was going to die.
Tuesday (3/27) – long walk with Nala
Wednesday (3/28) – long walk with Nala & short upper body superset workout (3 rounds)
- 12 Assisted Pull Ups + 6 Modified Burpees
- Single Arm Bent Over Rows x 12 + Power Tower Assisted Dips x 4-6
- Single Arm Alternating Overhead Press x 24 + 12 bicep curls
- Tricep kickbacks x 12 + incline push up x 6
Thursday (3/29) – long walk with Nala, my friend, and her baby
Food
Over the weekend we had some good eats and not so good weeks. I ordered a grilled cheese at one of our favorite restaurants in town and I’m not sure what it was, but I wouldn’t call that a grilled cheese. More like melted cheese in between two pieces of bread. I ate it and was still starving.
We made up for that meal with BJs brewery spinach dip and deep dish pizza. Man BJs has some of the BEST pizza EVER.
We also hit up Whole Foods which I got a ginormous salad from on Friday night. They totally redid the Chandler Whole Foods, they have like a walk up order place now with burgers, sandwiches, and more! It was crazy! Salad looks kind of gross because I didn’t snap a photo till after I shook it, sorry!
Then, of course, there is my weekly trip to Chipotle! I get the same thing every week! I eat it outside after I get done teaching since it’s so nice outside right now.
This was a delicious find at Sprouts, Zesty Lemon Hummus. Mr. Hungry was actually kind of mad, like why did you buy this where is the regular hummus? But then he tried it and we both agreed it was DELICIOUS, super refreshing!
(PS I saw this recipe from Kath Eats, now I definitely want to try it!)

Have a great Easter and all the carrot cake. After reading this I now am craving a grilled cheese. Maybe after that killer butt workout.
