Happy FriYAY, friends!
Today I’m off with the kids, so I was thinking about going to the train park or trying out the butterfly/rainforest park (IDK the appropriate description for that place, haha). Still, yesterday the kids were coughing (I can’t wait for summer vacay away from the sniffles), so we will see how today goes. Also, on Saturday, KK has his one-year-old cake smash photoshoot, which I’m excited about. People keep asking me what I got him, and that’s it. He’s one. He gets photos that will live on for a lifetime. He has enough toys. For the love of God, does anyone feel like toys multiple to the 10th power every occasion? Yet, I can’t bring myself to be a minimalist. If there is a chance just one of those toys will entertain them for even 2 seconds, I’m keeping it. So, that’s where I’m at.
On a real note, I’m excited and nervous about preschool ending next week. It’s been so great for him, and I love seeing him interact with the kids and make his own friends. However, once the masks came off and COVID restrictions loosened, the sniffles and minor kid colds seem nonstop. I won’t’ miss that this summer. I did sign him up for a little sports parks and rec thing, but not sure what else to do with him. The one tricky thing about preschool has been the running back and forth, juggling work time and the baby’s nap schedule. Yes, I have sitters, but I’m trying to use that time wisely as well because, let’s face it, they aren’t cheap. So, I often find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place with no clear right choice about when to have the sitter, when the baby should nap, or who should do pick up/drop off for KJ. On the other hand, I don’t want KJ to sit at home all summer either because he will get bored and cranky. So, you know, more choices, haha.
Anyways, I know many of you have or know graduates this weekend. Congrats to them and you! Have a wonderful weekend. And, of course, it’s Mother’s Day. Happy early Mother’s Day to all the Mamas out there. I hope you feel loved and appreciated!

Stitchfix Delivery
I LOVED this outfit from my latest stitchfix box. Excuse the counter. We are in a temporary living situation until our new house is ready, and I wasn’t planning on sharing this photo. But I snapped it because I was getting ready to film a bunch of YouTube videos earlier this week and put this new outfit on. For a second, I was like, damn, this is cute, and I feel really cute.
I wanted to remember how I felt at that moment, so I snapped a picture. I work with a ton of weight loss clients, and one thing I try to do is practice what I preach when it comes to loving yourself while seeking body composition change. It’s okay to want body composition to change, but it’s not okay to have negative thoughts about yourself in the process. I’m nowhere near the fitness level I was at 11.5 months after Kal, and I still have a few pounds I’d like to drop. But at this moment, I celebrated this cute outfit and the work I had put in so far instead of continually comparing myself to post-baby number one. You know what they say, comparison is the thief of joy!
Cinco De Mayo Fun
Carnitas
We made my slow cooker carnitas with pork tenderloin instead of pork butt! It was delicious because you get more flavor coating the smaller pork tenderloins. We had to double the seasoning. The only difference is that the final product was much leaner, not overly dry or anything, but drier than if you use pork butt/shoulder.
And margs, of course! We made the ones from Gimme Some Oven, and I have to say, they were simple to make and hit the spot.
I might have made another one after the kids went to bed since I didn’t get to drink the first one. #momlife
Fitness
It was a good week for fitness, that’s all I have to say. I’m doing push-ups, running, and feeling good, and I’m grateful for that! The past year has been hard to get my fitness back up. I felt like at every turn, something was working against me – either my body or life. But, it’s made me appreciate the weeks that go well.
