Hello friends! Big news! WE’RE MOVING!
Remember when I got shingles, likely due to stress? Well, I can officially blame moving on that!
The truth is Mr. Hungry, and I have moved many times since getting married, and our friends and family like to give us a lot of flack for it. But, in reality, every move was strategic, and I’d do it again. We’ve been so happy in our current house for the last five years, we brought both of our babies home here, and we LOVE the neighborhood. We know almost all our neighbors on our street, and the location is ideal.
But, we were starting to feel very cluttered and cramped. I know it always feels like that with a baby, but we knew that eventually, we want something with more square footage than we have now. While Mr. Hungry was most concerned with selling our home, I was concerned with entering a seller’s market as a buyer. We wanted to stay in the area, so I checked out what was selling in the fall, how long houses had been on the market, how much over-asking they went for, etc. Next, we met with our realtor and after much careful deliberation, we listed.
Our house sold quickly, and the transaction was relatively smooth. Plus, we got a 30-day rent back. Unfortunately, the buying market was as brutal as I thought it would be, if not more so. We wanted to stay in the area we live in now, and for much of the time our house was under contract, we saw nothing come up we really wanted. We threw a couple of bids out at the top of our budget in homes we weren’t in love with farther than we wanted. Thankfully they weren’t accepted.
Interest rates rose faster than they said they would, the war in Ukraine put further pressure on the market, and inflation skyrocketed. The stress was insane. I 100% would not recommend it. But the week our house closed, the perfect home popped up not even two miles from our current house, and thanks to our realtor’s guidance, we were able to get under contract in our forever home. We will close in a couple of weeks (we are past inspection and appraisal, so no more big things), but the owners have requested a 60-day rent back as part of initial negotiations, so we will need to move twice. That, of course, is not ideal, but it’s all good. We LOVE the home, and we are grateful it all worked out.
So now you know! We have some packing left this weekend before the movers come the following weekend. OMG, it’s so much harder to pack with little kids. We’re probably going to have to pack at night all this week! So that’s my weekend! Hope you get a chance to enjoy the spring weather!?
Anyone else move in this market? What was it like?

First Hair Cut
Little man got his first haircut! Thanks to Brad for coming over to our house, so he felt comfortable!
Trader Joe’s New Find
Birthday cake/funfetti is by far my favorite dessert flavor. I was excited to see Trader Joe’s carry these cookies I’ve long loved! (Or maybe they’ve carried them a while, and I just saw them? LOL)
Side note – do your kids like the small carts at TJ’s? KJ is not a fan, lol.
Nurture Life
The kind folks over at Nurture Life sent the boys some samples to try out! It’s been a lifesaver while we’ve been in the process of packing up and moving. Really clean ingredients, and the kids seem to enjoy the samples! I may do a full review soon if anyone is interested!
Fitness
Fitness was strong last weekend, but when my usual sitter got sick, I didn’t work out from Monday – to Wednesday. We did get a walk in every morning with Nala, though, so that’s good!

Congratulations on the new house! Quick question on those cookies…are they soft or hard?

Thanks! They are hard cookies.
