Happy FriYAY, friends!
You may have noticed it was a little quiet around Hungry Hobby this week. I only posted one other post (our recent dinners), and that’s it. I did a much-needed deep dive into the backend of my HH analytics. This kind of deep dive is just sifting through never-ending data to find out what type of content is popular and what’s not, what I should do more and less of, etc. I take this data along with your answers on the year-end survey (coming soon) to hone in on content for the following year.
This type of data analysis is something I used to do on the weekend, so there wouldn’t have to be a break in content, but with littles running around, I can usually carve out an hour or two of work. So I sifted through my site’s back-end analytics for 16 hours straight, two full workdays of doing nothing but that. It was a lot, but I hadn’t done it before KK was born, so it needed to be done. And I think I finally found a system to keep my research, ideas, and analysis all in one place. So thank you for understanding while HH is a little light on content right now!
Speaking of weekends, this weekend we have our family photos! I’ve had our outfits picked out for a while now, so I’m excited we finally get to wear them. I mean, I did go to three different Old Navy to get the boys matching clothes, totally worth it! Our photos were initially supposed to be last weekend but, they got moved to this weekend which worked out since everyone in my house had a cold last weekend. Everyone is on the mend now, though, thankfully!

Holiday Famjamas
I LOVE the holiday famjamas tradition we started when Kal was just about a year old. We got Burts Bees Rustic Reindeer Pattern, and I’m in love! It took a couple of size exchanges to nail down the right set, but I think we are good to go! Heads up, the male Burts Bees run large. Mr. Hungry was small (he’s 6’2″ 180lbs, so not usually a small.) And yes, we got Nala a bandana.
Shift
I can’t say enough good things about Shift. I was targeted for an IG ad, and I’m so glad I looked into it. It has changed the way I work, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back. Finally, I’m not constantly feeling behind on messaging apps like WhatsApp and Slack. My browser tabs are organized by workspace or email account. It’s glorious, but it’s hard to explain. So here is a video:
FYI Not sponsored and paid for it myself. My only complaint so far is that it’s a GIANT program to run. The more apps I add, the slower it runs, and my computer gets a bit loud. But, it’s not hindering me, so I’m keeping at it!
Bed Bath and Beyond Tableware
I’m hosting Thanksgiving again this year, so I ordered these lovely wicker farmhouse chargers, acorn and leaves jacquard napkins, and acorn napkin holders from Bed Bath and Beyond last weekend. I love the look of the wicker chargers. I think they could work for special occasions or even everyday use if that’s your thing. Heads up, though, they are a little more wobbly than your standard plate charger. Also, did I have to google how to put napkins in a napkin ring? 100% yes.
Found this awesome youtube video in case you need it too. I think I like the green one the best, which one do you like?
They are having an incredible 25% off sale, so I also ordered a new beautiful Turkey serving plate and two gravy bowls!
Don’t mind me over here singing the “I’m a big kid now” theme song to myself.
Great Harvest Bakery
I know I mentioned this last week, but we’ve made multiple trips to Great Harvest since discovering it. Last Friday, KJ and I stopped by for a muffin before his preschool playdate, and I also got some cranberry orange bread.
So many of their loaves of bread are made from 100% whole wheat flour, which is milled by them! Where else could you find cranberry orange bread that’s 100% whole grain? It was the perfect breakfast bread or after-dinner dessert with some butter (I use Miyokos.)
Oat Flour Waffles
Cinnamon flax oat flour waffles are still on repeat for breakfast! I don’t mind that he has waffles every day for breakfast because it’s equivalent to a big bowl of oats!
Thrive Market Box
Our latest thrive market box included:
- ketchup
- avocado oil (I don’t buy this from Costco anymore because they only sell it on a plastic bottle)
- extra virgin olive oil
- pumpkin cans
- mint dark chocolate
- chickpea pasta
- organic oats (they were out of thrive market brand, so I got BRM)
If you’ve never heard of Thrive Market, you can read my full review here!
FREE Turkeys!
I just got my turkey from Butcher Box, and she’s a beauty! She’s defrosting in my fridge right now because her destiny is a new healthy Thanksgiving leftover recipe!
BB members can grab their turkey in the exclusives section. New members can still jump on the free turkey deal!

Bonafide Chicken Broth
This Bonafide free-range chicken broth I got at Sprouts might be the most flavorful chicken broth I’ve ever tasted in my life. I used it in our pork ramen bowls last week, and it was SOOOOO good!
Fitness
I’m rolling along on the 5K Aaptiv program and week 24/25 of the Expecting and Empowered guides (code hungryhobby10.) I’m starting to think about trying to get an outdoor run in for the endurance runs, though, cause as they get longer, I enjoy them less when stuck on the treadmill, especially this beautiful time of the year!
This week looked like this:
- Friday – OFF
- Saturday – Interval Run
- Sunday – Week 24/25 Full Body Workout (OMG, SO SORE FROM THIS!)
- Monday – OFF
- Tuesday – OFF
- Wednesday- Endurance Run (2.5 miles)
- Thursday – Week 24/25 Lower Body Workout
- Friday Flashbacks
Plus a few walks with Nala!
