Dear baby girl, you turned nine months old last week! In honor of your nine-month birthday, you got your first ear infection. So, I don’t have any updated stats because we pushed your 9-month well visit out to follow up on that ear infection. There are pros and cons to being the youngest sibling, but definitely, a con is catching everything they bring home.
You are not officially crawling, but you can sure move around a lot. Your babysitter calls it starfish crawling. You spin yourself in circles on the ground on your tummy until you get where you want to be. You also get up on your knees and rock back and forth, sometimes so hard you propel yourself forward. You are SUPER close to crawling, but Mommy isn’t rushing anything because I know what happens once you figure it out. In the meantime, your brothers love to bring you whatever toy you’re crying for, so I’m sure you’ve figured out you don’t need to crawl if you can whine—perks of being the baby!
Your brothers love you and spoil you so much! I wonder how long you’ll be able to get them to do anything for you, literally. I hope it’s a long time!
Not much has changed with your schedule since your 8-month update. You are still nursing every 3-4 hours and napping twice daily. We did transition you from the Merlin suit to sleepsack. When you rolled over in the Merlin suit, we knew you had outgrown it. You’re eating three meals a day and now have the pincer grasp, so you can feed yourself pretty well! You aren’t a huge eater. The boys seemed to eat their weight in food, but you eat a little bit, and then you’re done. And like your oldest brother, you actually like veggies. We’re still doing Bobbie Gentle before bed and breastmilk from the bottle or the tap the rest of the time.

You are my easygoing baby with a fiery attitude. You love to laugh and show your brothers whose boss. You light up the room when you see Daddy. You are happy to come along in the doona or stroller just about anywhere. You are only really mad if you can see Mommy, but she isn’t giving you her full attention or holding you. Otherwise, you are my 0 to 180 child. You don’t fuss very often. You are either happy or not. There isn’t really an in-between.
You are saying Dada and Uh Oh pretty regularly. It’s really cute! And I’m pretty sure you have been saying Kelli, which is hysterical. I haven’t acknowledged it. I’ve just been saying Mama when you say it. I’ve also heard you say KK.
Luckily, unless your sick or teething, you are sleeping through the night. We are still doing a dream feed, but I honestly feel like you are ready to drop it as you’re not waking up for it anymore! I feel like nine months is a huge milestone as you are now an “older baby.” I’m excited to start seeing bits of your personality come through! Love you so much sweetie!
