Hello hello, guess what I did at 5am this morning? That’s right, return of the 5am run!
Followed by a protein shake, just like old times…
Man I felt the endorphins this morning, even with all the craziness going on at work I felt great. I was super proud of myself for getting up early and the workout felt pretty good so I was really happy. I was also really happy when I got home to be able to change into my PJ’s immediately! No workout or shower required. Awwww just sheer comfort.
Breakfast was DELICIOUS, I would have it again tomorrow if I wasn’t out of the main ingredient…. greek yogurt.
1 Cup Nonfat greek yogurt + 1 T Walden Farms Blueberry Syrup + 1T honey with sliced banana, blackberries, and crunchy quinoa granola = an amazing breakfast.
I ate my carrots with leftover ketchup, I’m pretty sure that must mean I have some weird obsession with ketchup I never knew about. I also had two clementines somewhere throughout the day. When I got home I started making dinner right away. We ended up having leftover taquitos from the other night (recipe to come tomorrow) and roasted acorn squash soup.
I’d share the soup recipe with you but it simply wasn’t that good. Plus, I was mad at it after I had a blender explosion in my kitchen and burned the you know what out of my left arm. The really cool thing about the Vitamix is that you can actually heat soup in it by blending it for five or so minutes. Apparently you better have the recipe right before the blending starts though, because once it’s hot there is no re-blending.
The bonus is I get to have the other half of the squash for breakfast tomorrow covered in sun butter and raisins. So I guess it was all for the best!
Now I’m watching Paul attempt to put together his new workout bench, it’s going pretty well actually. Paul just attributed his building skills to lots of lego building when he was young. Cracks me up! Now it will be time for bed if I plan on going round two for a morning workout.
