Hello! I haven’t done a weekend recap in FOREVER. I figured since I started taking pictures on Friday night for our anniversary dinner, I might as well keep taking them and see where the weekend takes us.
Spoiler alert, #momlife is not all that riveting!
We chose BJ’s Brewery for our anniversary dinner. We started with the bacon jam wings which were delicious! They were covered in a sweet jam with a little kick and bacon crumbles! Mr. Hungry and I make the perfect wing sharers. He loves wings, and I love the drummies.
For my meal, I got the seared ahi tuna salad. I ate all the tuna and about half the salad. It was a HUGE salad!
I also got a beer flight, which was delicious! I learned in Colorado that I don’t like IPA’s, other than that I love beer. My favorite of the beer flight was the Red, which is one of their most popular beers!
And the star of the show? Pazookie time! We got the classic chocolate chip, salted caramel, and sugar cookie. Salted caramel stoled the show, though. It was so freaking good!
Saturday started with a family run! Our first and only family-run of 2019, at least we got one in! Maybe another one on Thanksgiving, fingers-crossed!
Mr. Hungry pushing the stroller like a champ while the original running buddies were paired back up!
YOU SEE THAT BINKY ON THE FLOOR IN THE PICTURE? RIGHT IN THE CENTER BOTTOM? I’m sorry for the caps, but Mr. Hungry thought we lost while he was doing faster intervals while pushing the stroller.
He ran ALMOST THE ENTIRE 3-mile loop again looking for it. Only to find it at the end of our street, right where we took this photo. I didn’t realize it was in the picture until I started working on this post. Oh man. Poor Mr. Hungry!
Meanwhile, I was at home making egg sandwiches while this little dude terrorized the kitchen.
mmmmmmmmmmmm the sandwiches hit the spot though!
Little man napped for almost 3 hours, so after he woke up and had a snack, we headed out for errands. We purchased the backsplash to finish our kitchen with.
We also went to the bank and THREE stores. All for whole-grain cornmeal. Sprouts discontinued carrying it, Safeways was a long shot anyway, but trusty Whole Foods had it! Whew!
Sunday
How cute are these matching guys?
Mass is getting harder and harder for our squirmy baddler (that’s my word for baby toddler) to make it through. But he made it! Afterward, we went to breakfast with Grandma & Grandpa Hungry!
I got some hash. I don’t even remember what the name of it was because eating out with a baddler is a nerve-wracking experience. I was ready for an epic meltdown at any time, but he did pretty well. I was more anxious than the situation warranted but live and learn.
When we got home, it was time for recipe development and photography. I swear I’ve attempted at least five times in the past to make a healthy cornbread recipe that I thought was good enough to post. When the first test batch came out of the oven, I was scared.
BUT IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I immediately threw another batch in the oven and got set up to photograph! I’ll share the recipe soon, but more importantly, was the aftermath. So much honey everywhere, but it was worth it!
Little man only took a 90-minute nap, but luckily Mr. Hungry took over with feeding him his snack so I could get a quick workout in. After my workout (mostly strength and a little bit of HIIT), we went on a long walk.
Then it was dinner for the baby, bedtime routine, dinner for us, and now I’m finishing up this post!
How was your weekend friends?!?!?!
