Hi and Happy Monday! This weekend was another busy one but also fun! I got off work a little early on Friday since I’d already put in my 40 hours (plus many more). That meant I had enough time to get in an Orange Theory session before getting ready for church. (The Assumption of Mary into heaven is a Holy Day for Catholics.) I love having our farmbox pick up location be Whole Foods because it gives us an excuse to have a Whole Foods date every other week. After church we headed to Whole Foods and after talking about NOT eating at the grill and trying something else… we still ended up eating at the grill. I’m definitely glad we stuck with the usual though because I got the best most juicy piece of grilled chicken with a giant side salad and a diet root beer. It was a delicious meal and I had enough leftover for lunch on Saturday.
Saturday
Saturday morning I met my Mother in Law for breakfast at Pomegranate Cafe (a local vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant). I got an Iced Toddy with coconut cream and the Power Green Breakfast Bowl. I loved it, the pesto was sooooo good.
After breakfast I worked away at my computer writing upcoming posts for the Formulx blog and catching up on a few other freelance articles. I also did some recipe development for the Recipe Redux challenge coming up later this week. Then it was time to head to the movie theater to see Guardians of the Galaxy with our free movie tickets we got from our realtor forever ago. Mr. Hungry insists on getting to the movie at least 30 minutes early so he can have his prime spot.
Personally I think 30 minutes is a little excessive, especially since no one showed up for another 10 minutes while we were there. Marriage is all about compromise though right? Luckily I had popcorn to entertain me!
PS the movie was awesome, I definitely recommend it!
Sunday Runday
We kicked off Sunday morning our favorite way with a run!
1 mile- 10:09
2 mile- 9:41
3 mile- 9:30
4 mile- 10:58—> walking break
5 mile- 10:19—> hill of death
Us after the hill of death
It was the first time either of us had run 3 miles straight (outside, I’ve ran 4-5 on a treadmill) in a long time, so we took a short walking break after mile 3. The hill of death was about .25 miles long and definitely a killer because neither of us do any hill training, I was pretty happy I made it without stopping!
Sunday was pretty low key, some cooking and weekend prep. Plus, last week we finally got cable so we are catching up on what we missed from Shark Week!
How was your weekend?

I cannot even imagine running in Arizona heat… PGH heat/humidity is crazy enough for me.

Ha ha it was only like 85 at 530am, but I see people running in the afternoon at like 120 degrees, they be crazy.

I love the “hill of death” comment – made me laugh out loud. Your run looks like it would be so pretty {but I bet quite hot!} and I am impressed you didn’t stop up that hill. There are literally no hills in New Orleans so I would have died. Unfortunately, I had to skip my Sunday run because I was having ankle pain/swollen foot issues, wah. Have a great week 🙂

Ha ha just trying to lighten up the Monday for you! Sorry you had to skip your run and your ankle is swollen, I hope it gets better soon. You have a great week too!
