Last night I woke up at 2am so hungry my stomach was rumbling and I could not go back to sleep! I tried for like 15 minutes to go back to sleep before I gave up, got up and had a midnight snack. This is totally weird for me, I can usually sleep through anything, I am not accustomed to being woken up by hunger! A half a piece of TJ’s Colby/Swiss cheese and I could finally fall asleep. Looking back I can say it probably had something to do with a combination of a very early unbalanced dinner before an intense core and Zumba session. Has this every happen to you?
This morning started kind of paleo style with a sweet potato topped with sunbutter and raisins for breakfast.
For some added protein I grabbed a piece of string cheese on my way out the door.
The morning went by mostly smooth except we didn’t break for lunch until close to 1pm. By then I was beyond hungry so I went for a Turkey Melt on Rye Bread paired with some sweet and sour carrots. I fell in love with Rye bread visiting Paul’s family in Michigan. I don’t know why but it seemed like a big deal there, it was everywhere. I love the grainy earthy texture it has, YUM! I’ve decided I’m on a new mission to find a whole grain version of rye bread, because sadly most are not whole grain. Anyone know of where to find a good one? Or a good recipe? I’m always up for baking! Anyways, I ended up eating half the sandwich and about half the carrots (they were a little to saucy and mushy for my taste) before I got full.
That’s it so far today, now it’s off to dinner, running, and some shopping/photo snapping for tomorrow’s Friday Focus post!
Some running articles I read today:

I’ve woken up hungry in the middle of the night a few times and I hate it so much that I’m always a little bit scared of not eating enough before sleeping now. It’s not a fun feeling! It’s a pretty clear signal of not eating enough, and your big workout session probably didn’t help. But hey, at least you got up and ate something. 🙂
