Sweet and salty salad with homemade goat cheese dressing is a salad worth actually remembering.Â
First up, a big thanks to all of you for all your wonderful comments on Stitch Fix post! I’m so so so glad you liked it and so is my photographer (aka Mr. Hungry.)
Oh warnings, those little things we ignore out of ignorance or denial. Â Those little things that if we didn’t ignore them, our lives would be a whole lot easier. Yesterday, I was totally bit… complaining over snapchat about my PO box situation.
I had received several warnings from the post office about my credit card (I have the Costco Amex Citibank fiasco to thank for that), but basically ignored them because I did not recognize their importance. Â Before you know it, shit hit the fan and now I’m scrambling trying to pick up the pieces. Â I’m not totally sad about it, I didn’t really want my PO box at that post office anymore anyway.
The Higley post office is super close, but it makes me sound like I operate my business on a farm. Â Gilbert is at least an up and coming suburb of Phoenix, recognized for it’s one little downtown strip and the presence of top golf.
It’s all relevant seeing as everything is within a 45-minute drive in Arizona. Â That being said, Higley, ew, no I don’t operate a farm (although I’d love some fresh produce and eggs) so therefore I don’t want my PO box there anyway. Â Plus the old lady that mans said post office in the middle of nowhere Arizona is not very nice. So there’s that.
Anyways….
So about warnings…
My point is life is giving us warnings, or as my buddy Jack calls them, yellow alerts, all the time. The question is, are we looking for them? Â If we are looking for them, are we taking action on them?
Are your pants getting a little tighter or loser? Â Are you craving sugar or salt? Â Are you hungrier than normal? Â Are you tired? Â Are you cranky, annoyed, emotional, or pissed off?
Our bodies are giving us yellow alerts all the damn time, we just blatantly ignore them like I did my post office messages… because we will get to it soon… because it isn’t that important in the moment. At the moment treats give us substance and make us feel good.
Another cup of coffee and less sleep helps us get one more thing done. Then catastrophe hits later.  Your pants won’t button, your housing twinkies while simultaneously downing double shot mocha espresso madness and daring someone to piss you off so you can let them have it.  Just something to think about…
Or if you don’t want to think about that, then dream about a salad actually worth remembering.  A salad that satisfies your craving for sweet, tangy, creamy, and salty all in one bite.  Whoever said there can be too much of a good thing is wrong, this salad is all of those good things rolled into one delicious amazing refreshing bite.
You may have noticed there are not very many salad recipes here at HH. Â Well that’s because back in the day, I used to take them to work all the time. Â I often used gross artificial sweetener filed dressings and pretended that I liked the taste.
Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and just stayed away from salads, opting for an adult lunchable instead. Â I’ve now made a deal with myself, if I’m going to eat a salad it’s going to taste amazing. Â It’s going to be as good if not better than the healthy steak dinner I had last night. Â So that’s what this is, a salad I’m willing to eat with dressing I LOVE.
Or we could all just think about Khaleesi taking over the world (I’m on season 6) and Cookie taking over Empire.  I feel like I don’t even need to watch that one this season to know what’s going on, thanks to Pandora ads.
