If we went out for a glass of wine tonight we would probably be at a cute little place in Old Town Gilbert which is the best part of living in the East Valley. The scene is a cross between the last remaining snow birds and young couples, random but fun. The weather is perfect though so we can sit outside somewhere and get burgers, tacos, bruschetta, salads and order bottomless glasses of wine.
If we were sitting down for wine I want to know all about what is going on with you! How is life? Hows the job? Are you thinking about (more) kids? How are the ones you have, furry children included?
If we were sharing wine I’d tell you all about how I’m super excited I got my first chin up. Granted, I’ve only be able to do one but it’s one more than I could do before! I’ve been focusing a lot on building strength for the last few months which is definitely paying off! However, I need some spice, now that my back is feeling better I want to do a bit more high intensity stuff. I’m still lifting, thanks to my friend Brandon I’m hooked but I’m also trying out the Nike Trainer month long “get lean” program. I added running into the program but I don’t always do the running on the days they suggest. For example last night was supposed to do a metabolic style workout and a 3.5 mile run, instead I did a 30 minute heavy lifting session and then the metabolic workout. Today I’m planning to do the run instead of yoga, I really like yoga but not on my own, maybe some day.
I would also tell you about how I’m currently in the process of becoming a Certified Leap Therapist, meaning I will be able to provide food sensitivity testing to my one on one nutrition clients. So far I’m extremely impressed with the training and certification process. Instead of just avoiding the foods that come up as highly reactive, they have a whole protocol which is literally amazing. It takes more work on the clients part at the beginning but it means the pay off is even better. I’m excited to start utilizing the testing with my clients and working with more clients who have GI related needs. Of course, Mr. Hungry will be the first guinea pig.
I’d tell you about how excited my SIL and MIL will be here all of June! My MIL actually asked me to meal prep for her when I do ours so that will be fun, can’t wait to test all kinds of recipes on her! Just kidding! I know Missy will enjoy more people in the upstairs section of the house because I’m sure she gets lonely hiding out up there all day.
But thank goodness her sister Nala is much better behaved these days. Nala’s training is going SO much better, she actually stayed laying down while we opened the door the other day (as opposed to jumping all over the door and being uncontrollable). It’s crazy because little dogs in the class are as hyper as her, if not more so, but she is just so BIG! Oh well that makes her a great running partner so it’s worth it!
Oh ya, and my birthday is basically in one month so I’m starting to plan the week long festivities now. Birthdays are a big deal in this Shallal house so you can bet it’s gonna be epic, include margaritas and lot’s of red, white, and blue because I basically blend America’s birthday into my birthday. In my mind they are the same weekend so the festivities continue! That’s probably the thing I’m most excited for right now!
