This is our go-to wings dry rub. I keep some pre-made for wings at all times, whether we air fry them, grill them, or bake them!
I feel like some of you may be like, um, is this even a recipe? I get that, but I couldn’t resist sharing this because it’s such a staple in our house.
Ever since I came up with this seasoning blend for our sweet and spicy dry rub air fryer wings, I’ve kept batches of it pre-made ready to go for any time the wings craving strikes. Admittedly, that’s not a lot in pregnancy, but it was a couple of times a month prior to that.
I don’t know what it is about it, but it’s just the perfect blend of savory and spicy. The dry rub seasoning is a bit spicy, but you could always omit the cayenne pepper or decrease it if you want. Also, if you want to make it sweet and spicy, you can toss it with oil and maple syrup before using the dry rub. Or you can skip that and add a tablespoon of sugar to the rub as well. The possibilities are really endless, which is why I HAD to share this as a separate recipe.
You can use this rub if you are going to use the air fryer as we do or if you want to grill your wings or bake them. It’s versatile, and it’s just so damn delicious! Trust me. I am NOT one to premake my own spices. Um, make your own Italian seasoning? Hard pass, I’ll pick mine up at the store. But, you can’t get anything as good as this at the store, I PROMISE. It’s freaking delicious! I think I might have mentioned that.

I used this recipe tonight, I doubled the anounts and added an extra 1/2 tsp of Cayenne pepper, baker the wings at 450 degrees for 50 minutes, then broiled on HI for 3 minutes. My husband said he’s never ordering wings again. This was the absolute best he has eaten. My son said to make them a little less spicy.
