Happy Sunday everyone! Hope your having a wonderful Father’s Day weekend! Let’s back track a bit to Thursday… which I woke up at like 3:30 to take Mr. Hungry to the airport, came back slept for an hour, walked the pup, and went into work early. I planned to get something there to eat while I ran a supplement booth, but that didn’t work out. Mostly do to my pickiness, so I ended up paying $3 bucks for a quest bar.
Which definitely was not enough energy to fuel me for spin at 915. I barely made it through the class it felt like DEATH! Everyone was giving me a hard time, “aren’t you a dietitian or something? Don’t YOU KNOW what and when to eat?” #iamhuman #dietitianfail After the “workout” I came home and ate a spinach, giant egg white, goat cheddar cheese, brown rice quesadilla. So much better!
Like all days off work the day went SUPER FAST, in which I stayed in workout cloths the WHOLE day. Gross. Overnight Oats as a lunch time snack, 1/3 cup oats, 1 scoop chocolate whey isolate, water in almond butter container.
Followed by a really weird dinner of almond bread toast with chia seed jam and banana.
Looking back I didn’t eat that much which I probably why I found myself face first in the brown rice chips at 9pm and mmmmm goat cheese. Recently I’ve been working to REALLY REDUCE my night time cravings and snacks.
Some photos from Friday….
- One thing I’ve been doing is giving into my cravings a bit. The thing is I crave healthy foods more often than unhealthy foods. Sometimes at night I crave a sweet potato with dinner, in the past I would have argued myself thinking I didn’t need carbs at dinner. Now I assume my body is craving it for a reason and I feel a lot better after dinner if I just go for what I’m craving, less or no snacking. Ignoring my body’s signals is a trip to disaster town, I listen and I feel better and do better.
Some eats from Saturday…
- I’ve also stopped watching the clock. I’m usually pretty hungry when I wake up but I use to tell myself don’t eat yet it’s to early and would have a quest bar before an early shift at work and end up slamming coffee and feeling nauseous. Now I don’t care at all, bring on the egg sandwich at 6am. I can take all my vitamins and feel really good during the morning, versus barely being able to talk to my first client. FOOD= ENERGY we need to break the fast with a good wholesome meal, it’s worth the 15 minutes to make real food for breakfast.
Last night I did make a single serving oatmeal raisin cookie (sub coconut flour for all purpose flour) and had some dark chocolate for dessert, what else to do when you have the house to yourself on a Saturday night? Oh ya and I had a Friends marathon on Netflix…. there will never be a better show. Today I’m going in to work for a little while, then working out and picking up Mr. Hungry. I’m definitely ready for him to be home 🙂
