Food
This was Tuesday 10/10, today I’m going to share supplements as well. Please please please remember that just because I take or eat something doesn’t mean it’s right for you. Always consult a doctor, naturopath or holistic dietitian when it comes to supplements/foods you may be interested in taking.
I woke up and started the day how I always do with coffee with collagen and half and half, plus a little gratitude journaling. Then, the day kind of got insane. I finished my Kung Pao Chicken Recipe Casserole Post and then had to bolt out of the house to walk the dog. When I came back I slammed a yogurt and had to head to the dentist to get my temporary crown glued back on. UGH.
I also took a dropperfull of methyl factors, a B vitamin supplement that my Naturopath suggested due to my reduced MTHFR levels and borderline MCV value.
After the dentist appointment, I was feeling really down. My instructions were to “call when the tooth got better,” which is commonly a couple of weeks but could be months, or worst case they have to extract the tooth. Any of you remember how long it took for biting sensitivity to go away after a root canal? It makes me wish I would have just left this tooth alone, I feel like it’s never going to get better. Anyways, like I said I was feeling down and not wanting to work so I hit up CVS to pick up a few random things then headed home. Obviously, buying mouthwash didn’t lift my mood so I decided it was time for a workout, which did help. I restarted Kayla’s BBG Program so I’m back to week 1. From now on I will likely only be doing the arms/abs days to supplement OTF. Afterward, I was pretty hungry so I made 2 eggs with uncured ham to eat with leftover cauliflower rice.I also took one of prenatal vitamins (no I am not pregnant, I’ve been on them for the increased iron for the last year.)
As I was eating my eggs I started this post (because lord knows if I record on Tuesday I will not remember it Thursday night) and then jumped in the shower, caught up on email/blog comments. Oh ya, and more coffee before heading out to counseling. Yes, I go to counseling, I’ll probably be a counseling lifer. I’m not dealing with anything specific except being a type A tightly wound control freak, ya know a typical choleric. Hey, at least I can admit my faults right?
I ran some errands after UPS store, picking up a bridesmaid dress, etc.. Then I came home and shot a new smoothie recipe. (Had a handful of pumpkin seeds before I started for a snack plus for seed cycling.) It was so good I literally couldn’t stop drinking it and had to make it a second time to shoot it ha ha.
That smoothie held me over till after my class I taught which was great! (It wasn’t a very long lab, I got home around 7:30 pm.) When I came home I heated up leftover barbecue food from the weekend, spaghetti squash from last week and bbq sauce.
Then for dessert, I had about a half of carton of halo top, that was all 100% PMS.
Post dinner supplements: nordic naturals ultra 2x fish oil(seed cycling), Nordic Naturals GLA (seed cycling), and a probiotic (the probiotic that changed my life). I’m also drinking a tea called “her herbs” to support hormones, recommended by my Naturopath. I’m not super into tea so it’s whatever, it is kind of a nice before bed ritual but I don’t really LOVE IT if that makes sense. Plus I definitely think it’s doing something to my hormone balance because I experience some pretty intense PMS symptoms this month.
Sometimes I take calcium chews and sometimes I don’t, wasn’t feeling them yesterday. As I head off to bed I mix up some Natural Calm and hit the sack (PS I don’t recommend order Natural Calm of Amazon, I’ve heard about tons of scams/horror stories.)

Looks like an awesome week of workouts/food. Do you do whichever BBG workout you’re feeling, or are you doing it in order? I keep wanting to start… 😉

That is good to know about Nature Calm and Amazon, I haven’t ordered any from them, but order other supplements and stuff there. So sorry about your tooth, dental stuff is awful.

thanks girl!

what is in the “her Herbs” tea? Why do you take the nordic naturals GLA for seed cycling with the fish oil? I am trying to figure out ways to better support my hormones too
Kelli Shallal MPH RD says
Her Herbs were taken to prepare my body for pregnancy.
You can find more about seed cycling in this post: https://hungryhobby.net/seed-cycling-amenorrhea/
Hope that helps!
