Wow its so late already this is gonna be a super quick post! For breakfast this morning I enjoyed a nice light breakfast at a fundraiser for Ville De Marie Academy.
The tables were set up so beautiful, that parfait was delicious I could have eaten 10 of them!
A friend of ours has children that attend the school so I went to show support, I wasn’t ware the school was SO small. I think I had classes bigger then their whole school growing up.
It got Paul and I thinking and talking about where we would want to send our future kids. We had very different experiences growing up, he attended a school much like Ville De Marie and I attended public school. There are definitely pros and cons to each, but one thing I hear a lot of now is the parents taking the kids wants into consideration. I think that is so cool and I hope we have that opportunity as well. It was a fun morning with my future mother in law and friends. Then I headed all the way accross town to work but first I stopped at Circle K for coffee and a lunch. Don’t buy coffee from circle K, it use to be good but now its gross… so bitter. Clearly I didn’t plan well because for lunch I had a protein bar…
and a large banana
When I got home I was in serious debate as to if I should go to Alpha or not. My legs were still pretty sore from Tuesday but with Paul’s encouragement I ate a piece of Eziekel Raisin Bread with sunbutter and went. Clearly I’m not into using plates.
My workout was like all cross fit style workouts… dang hard. Today was different though, I was still super sore so I knew it was going to be a struggle but it was worse than that. I usually don’t care how I look or what I’m doing because I’m amazed at how strong I actually am, but todays workout incorporated pull ups. I’ve never done them without using the machine before, instead I was supposed to climb the ladder type thing and use my feet to help push me up. It was hard, so freaking hard, I think I ended up looking like a complete goon the whole time. That totally killed my spirit and I came home, tired, sweaty, very sore, sulky and frustrated. With these types of workouts though frustration has to be turned into progress and thats what I aim to do.
For dinner I had a mahi mahi burger over salad with salsa/greek yogurt dressing, topped with cheddar cheese. Cheese equals happiness and I started to feel a little better about the workout. I also had some chips with salsamole on the side. No idea what happened to that picture, sorry! I ate a good dinner and was totally satisfied at the end, one date for dessert and I was good.
Trying to Control
When I get stressed or feel that things are out of my control I try to nit pick at what I eat and burn calories with long cardio workouts. I noticed the more I nit pick, the more stressed I get, and the more I end up eating. If I let go a little bit and trust in my bodies ability to intuitively eat and know what it needs to fuel itself then things run much more smoothly (aka I maintain weight and have less stress). That was part of my battle of going to Alpha tonight, I really wanted to skip the day and wake up tomorrow for a super long run. However, my goal is to get stronger and the pull ups made it evident as to why. Plus I knew that I only have one more Alpha workout before the wedding and I want some muscles to show off hopefully! Now bedtime its too late already! Night Night!
