Last night Mr. Hungry and I went out to dinner to Picazzo’s for our 5 year anniversary (dating, not wedding). We were going to hit up our usual cafe but decided to be adventurous instead.
We decided to check out Picazzo’s, an Italian restaurant with a healthy twist. Perfect for us because they offer lots of greens for me and lots of pasta for Mr. Hungry. They also offer gluten free options for everything they serve, which is pretty amazing at an Italian food restaurant.
We didn’t end up getting there till around 7:30pm so we were definitely hungry, we started with a delicious appetizer of spinach dip filled artichoke bottoms! Genius AND delicious!
For my meal I got baked wings with buffalo sauce (so Italian) which were super hot (just the way I love them) and interesting because I’m pretty sure the sauce was somehow tomato based. Either way, I really enjoyed them!
I also got a side dish of marinated vegetable medley which had kale, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and squash in it.
See the picture of us above with the dessert menu before our meal even came out? Dessert was definitely happening last night without question. We went with an oatmeal crusted apple cobbler which as you can probably guess was incredible, we make such a good team…I fished around for the apples and Paul ate mot of the oatmeal.
Ice cream was every man for himself though! It was a nice little dinner date and nice to have a break from cooking on a week night, especially since I got out of Physical Therapy kind of late. If you are near Ahwatukee/Chandler and in the need for a restaurant that will please everyone including meat eaters, pasta lovers, vegans, vegetarians, and gluten free I would definitely recommend checking out Picazzo’s.
I hope you’re having a good Tuesday!
