Workouts
After we got back late from the movie last night (go see We’re the Millers–> it’s HILARIOUS) I opted for extra sleep this morning and missed my long run. This meant it was time to tackle my first hour long treadmill session. Here is what I did-
It was going pretty well until I started getting warnings of potential data usage overload and had to stop streaming Nashville on my iphone. Luckily for me that didn’t happen till around mile 4 and then I only had two more to knock out. Watching TV definitely made the time fly by faster, but I think I still would have rather been outside. Or then again maybe not because heading home from the gym I got caught in a storm, which wouldn’t have been so bad if there were drainage systems in place on the street. It reminded me of living in Tucson, there was so much flooding! Okay but I did make it home okay, and overall not too shabby, definitely my fastest 6K ever!
Based on the first part of my 1/2 marathon training schedule I set for myself, this week I plan on doing the following:
Sunday– 6 mile run
Monday- 2-3 miles/ST
Tuesday– OFF/YOGA
Wednesday– Zumba + CORE/ARMS
Thursday– 3-4 miles/ST
Friday– CT/ST or run
Saturday– OFF
Meals Plans
This week I’m kind of winging it. It is my last week here in the California desert, so I really don’t want to buy anything…. I just want to use what I have. In my future I see a lot of simple food like protein shakes, quesadillas (apple and/ or spicy shrimp), and other random creations from what I’ve got in the fridge.
To be honest, right now I’m focusing on what I want to make the first week I’m back in Phoenix cooking for someone other than myself. There is so much I want to make but I’m actually a little intimidated. I’ve been eating so simple and random, I’ll have to remember to make enough food for a guy. I will also have to remember to consider his tastes and preferences, which don’t always agree with mine… like his preference for mildly spicy food and not burning your tongue, and making your eyes water, spicy foods like I like! I’ve got some tried and true old favorites in mind for the first week though so we can kind of ease into a routine. Can’t wait to share the recipes!
As I type I’m thinking about signing up for all my favorite magazines including cooking light and eating well! Plus I have two months of ziplist, pinterest, and feedly saved recipes to try!
Hope your Sunday was relaxing and all that jazz, be back tomorrow with tonights random dinner creation recipe: Apple and Cranberries Quinoa Bowl! It was delicious!

Such an awesome way to lay out your 10K Treadmill Workout. I just conquered a couple of 5Ks and I am going to begin working my way up. I will definitely keep this chart in mind for my training! Thanks!
