If you are struggling with what to eat post workout when you are on the go, these five post-workout snacks will solve all your problems!
My life is busy nowadays, busier than it’s ever been. My life is so busy that I meal prep just about all my meals because I don’t even have time during the day to spoon things out on a plate. I’m that kind of busy, can you relate?
Snacks, especially post-workout snacks, have been an area I’ve been struggling recently. I usually eat whatever I can find, prepare, and consume with one hand. I used to eat a ton of dairy, but since it turns out a little man is allergic to it, so I don’t eat that anymore. I won’t lie; there have been more than a few times I ate vegan chocolate chips out of the bag and called it a “snack.”
While good for the soul at times, eating chocolate chips for a snack on the regular is probably not going to be conducive to helping me get back in shape. What I need to be focusing on is protein and produce at snacks, that’s what I recommend to my clients and what I know will help keep me the most full for the longest.
That’s why I’m so excited to have my refrigerator stocked with these epic new Bold Bites from Foster Farms. Snack packs of pre-flavored chicken that you can eat anywhere at any time! You guys, these flavors are OFF THE CHAIN. (side note: do people say that anymore?) I seriously could barely stop myself from eating them while photographing them. They are DELICIOUS!
I decided to make quick little snack packs with them so that I could achieve my goal of eating protein and produce at snack times. Since I’ve been really struggling with eating after workouts, usually I’m running to pick up the baby after a nap, I decided to make the snack packs post workout focused. These snack packs are good for post workout because they contain both protein and carbohydrate, but they also are just good for any time you need a snack!

Quick Post-Workout Meal Tips Q & A
What should you eat post workout?
You want to consume protein and carbohydrate paired together. The protein helps your muscles repair, and the carbohydrate refuels your energy. Carbs also help ensure that the protein you consume is used for muscle repair and not used for energy production; we call this “protein sparing.”
How soon should you eat post workout?
Ideally, eat within 30 minutes of finishing your workout.
Do I have to drink a protein shake?
Absolutely not! Your protein source does not have to be a protein shake post workout. Real food like Foster Farms Bold Bites is more filling and just as portable as a protein shake!
You can find Bold Bites at your local grocery store! Tag me (@hungryhobbyrd) and @fosterfarms if you try them! Also, check out @fosterfarms on Instagram for more flavor-filled inspiration!
