Happy Thursday out there! I can’t believe we are already three days into December, so far we have two things crossed off the Christmas Bucket List! This is one of those months I definitely want to slow down as much as possible! As promised for mindful December, let’s catch up!
Tuesday Recap
Tuesday I woke up and headed to the gym first thing, like old times! I knocked out a 4.5 mile run with this routine:
Post workout ice of the shins, my back has been feeling great, my shins on the other hand are pissed 🙁
Post workout I had a Paleo Beef Protein Shake (really the only thing I’ve changed since seeing my Food Sensitivity test is the type of protein powder I use, I’m working on it though!) mixed with ice, unsweetened flax milk, and 1/2 scoop of espresso dynamic greens.
This allowed me to not be cranky while I made and photographed the most delicious quiche I think I’ve ever made. Hello Spicy Broccoli Cheddar Egg White Quiche, you were quite delicious.
Hair appointment boredom included a selfie and reading The Rumor. So far the book is just okay, I’ll keep you updated.
I was thinking about how much more patience and compassion I have for people in the service industry now having worked in it myself as a personal trainer and Dietitian. I know how hard it is to put on a good show 24/7 no matter how tired or what’s going on. Since we moved I went somewhere new and tried a new girl. She was a little cranky at the beginning and before I would have faulted her for it. Now it didn’t bother me at all, I just figured she was having a bad day. She ended up being really cool and I love my hair so I’m definitely glad I’ve had that experience. After my hair appointment I came home and made a little lunch, open faced sandwich with goat cheese and turkey with some carrots. It totally hit the spot!
And a spoonful of sun butter 🙂
I wanted to be on my A game because I was getting a review from my department head so I made sure to have something super filling before leaving to teach my nutrition class. I decided on plain greek yogurt mixed with the raspberries that weren’t moldy, there were like two left, and stevia drops.
When I got back from class I heated up two bison mini meatloaves (a recipe I sadly never got to photograph) from the freezer and some leftover broccoli from the quiche. Dinner in seconds, that’s just the way I like it! Mr. Hungry got the rest of Thanksgiving leftovers 😉
Dessert = cranberry goat cheese stuffed date = amazing
Wednesday Recap
Breakfast was a little later than usual cause I was all caught up in emails, client stuff, and blog stuff. Before I headed out to the gym I had the rest of a container of yogurt with stevia drops.
I did a strength workout that my hamstrings are not loving today, burns so good. Although I must say while yogurt is apparently a great pre run snack for me, it is not a great strength workout for me (should have stuck with my UCAN). Post workout and post Costco breakfast/lunch was delicious though!
I ate that along with some turkey and blueberries, I worked away at my computer until it was snack time. This sirracha hummus from sprouts is the BOMB, so good! I totally think I can make it on my own though, I see a recipe coming!
I finally took Nala on a walk to the dog park, we walked and played for about an hour before I got home. I ate a piece of cheese, Mr. Hungry is never ready to eat till 7 or so. If it were up to me I’d have dinner at 5pm every single night, but it isn’t, so cheese is filling enough for an hour or so! He had Turkey Enchiladas made with a gluten free tortilla and I had chicken sausage and broccoli.
More Goat Cheese and Dates for dessert 🙂
Now it’s time to go clean up the mess my dog has made!
Question Of The Day
Would you rather never be able to eat chocolate or eat chocolate and throw up?
We got this question while we were sitting around the fire pit, my vote was eat chocolate and throw up. I know it’s gross but then you wouldn’t want it anymore versus always wanting it?
